"Instead of Sylar, it was you, it was always you that would bring the world to it's knees in a rain of blood and flames. It was always going to be you, baby, I knew it from the start."
"That's why you're by my side, through thick and thin, Elle, it will always be you who is the one for me."
-
Those last few words said with a such a pure face, not that goofy grin only a child like him could make (always directed at my shining hands), a last good moment in the small time we had before it all went to hell in a handbasket.
(with a murderer's bloody hands ready to pull us down with him)
"My, my what do we have here? Are you both starting a little club of survivors? How cute."
It was my nightmare come to life, those eyes dragging me to hell with every look, but this time it wasn't just my own life at stake but that of a boy that had barely started to see the world.
(hadn't had his chance to burn down the world)
Before I could become unfrozen, stopped in my tracks by the terror filled memories that those eyes and hands had brought up, Luke was putting on his brave face even if he was quaking in his combat boots and pulled out the best thing about him, his hands.
(ready to dive into the fray with a grin matching Sylar's, even if this meant his death)
"You son of a bitch-"
It didn't take a second before the blood began to spill, soaking into my own hands to tell me that this was reality, a deadly one, and I had a front seat to it all.
"Tsk, tsk my boy, what a bad young man you are. Didn't anyone tell you not to poke a bear?"
Finally my legs were free, unstrapped from my the lead he had placed on my feet with just one gaze from the big bad wolf, and I was by his side in a few short steps, looking out for my new baby.
(someone who can be called baby, but won't be called 'toy' and that's something)
"Aww did I hurt your boyfriend, Elle?"
Those lips of his curled into the grin that had been haunting me for years, ever since those fingers lifted up ready for the kill, as my hands filled with Luke's blood, something just snapped and every bit of power that lived in me was coming from my finger tips.
(finally in control of myself and hopefully how this little dance of blood and lightning would end)
"Yes you did, Gabriel, and believe me he was more of a boyfriend then you ever were."
I knew that one hit wasn't going to knock the giant down, this time a tiny stone wouldn't do the trick, so I got the bastard with everything I had hidden within this small frame.
"And this time you won't get the chance to hurt anyone else."
It ended in more blood, fried that is, and burns that I ever thought it would, after all I never thought that this nightmare was never going to end, but thankfully it wasn't ours.
"You saved me, El, thank you."
By now the blood was dried to him like a thick coating of paint, but unlike the blood on me it could be washed off, as he looked up at his savior glad that he was still in the land of the living.
(thanks to these wonderful hands of mine)
"Don't get all mushy on me, boy, I wasn't ready for you to leave me just yet, that's all. You'll rule the world one day so dying in a bloody mess is out of the question."
