Crouched down, I parted my jaws to let in the scent, at once all the scents of camp flooded me.

BN "Hey Fish, can you help me clear out the den?" called Bush from across the dry crackly grass of the camp. Then, there it was, the scent of my bro, he won't know what hit em!. I wiggled my haunches, then I jumped and landed on my bro's back. We tussled together until we bumped into sis.

"Stop this at once" she hissed playfully, she jumped on me and my bro pinning us down. "Where old enough to take the test in the woods, remember?",

"I member", I meowed. Craciling bracion, our pod leader called for us to gather.

"Today I'll be performing one of my favorite duties as well as my least favorite", The pod leader mewed quietly, "These kittens are now old enough and I am sad to say that only 2 of these kittens will be participating in this test." What does he mean? "The 2 kittens will receive their names if they can find there way back home, the black kitten you will not be participating , you are blind. You will live with the old." he added, "Let the test began." No-one moved, no-one spoke.

"HOW COULD YOU!?, I WANT TO BE WITH MY BRO AND SIS, I WAN'NA BE IN THE CONTEST! BUT NAH, YOU MAKE ME LIVE WIth THE OLD! I HATE YOU- ALL YOU, I AM GO'IN AND YOU AN'T STOPEN ME" I hissed. That night I was moved to the oll's den and wasn't lowed out. How could he, he knows I can handle it? Then it hit me, he doesn't want a blind fighter making em' look weak. I finally drifted off to sleep. The sounds of battle raged as I opened my eyes. A giant creature loomed over me and attacked. I woke up with a start. Was that about? It was barely dawn and I could see a gap in the cave of the old, I slipped though. Suddenly I heard a howl, My dream! My dream is coming true!"WOLFPACK, WOLFPACK IS ATTACKING, ERYONE UP!" I screamed. Everyone was in the center of camp now. Panic washed over me like rain.

"We need to prepare, all old and mothers nursing go to the safety cave."Crackling bracon hissed. As they hurried into the safety cave the wolfpack arrived. The battle was intense,

Werm I? I'd lost me way to de safety cave and then a wolf loomed over me and attacked, I ran and ran as far as I could until I found myself in the forest still I cud feal the wolf's hot breath on my back like a mini sun, I quickly dived in a rabbit hole. It was a long time before I creped out of the burrow.

"Mom?, Mom?, MOM!?," I cried. Please let someone hear me! My stomach growled.I had to hunt, I realised I was doing the test-except I was blind. I Crouched down, and parted my jaws, the scent of rabbit told me that a rabbit was in the burrow sleeping, easy prey! The rabbit was filling and juicy. I started the long trek home, For almost a month I was lost, walking and running, over and over, thump… thump… thump… thump…thump went the ground on my pads.

Then one day I woke up to smell a familiar scent. Home! I ran as fast as my legs would go. "I'm finally home" I cried. As I burst into camp I was greeted by hissing.

"Get out of our camp you nasty loner", growled the pod leader. what?!

"Don't you remember me? The battle with wolfpack!"I whined, My mother rushed up to me and started to lic me furiously,

"Your home at last my poor poor child." Home! My brother and sister joined in. we all purred.

"For the courage you have, you are now a fighter" the pod leader mewed with a hint of annoyance in his voice, then added "you will be known as darkness, keeper of the shadows". That night we had a feast, and I told eryone of my journey.
