A/N: This fic was inspired by two things: 1. John Mayer's song "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room," and 2. mayonaka-ni-sakayume at DA's picture entitled "Spoons."

It was different. It was comfort, wrapped in trust, and garnished with the pure need to be together. It was one of those things that couldn't be understood – just couldn't – unless you happened to be Izumo or Kotetsu.

It was spending every moment with that one person, the one person you can stand to spend every moment since birth with – and in fact, it makes you happy to spend every moment with them.

It was knowing that if something was wrong, he would know how to fix it. It was knowing that he knows when you want him to hold your hand. It was knowing what to say to make you laugh when you wanted to cry. Because you know… he only wants to see you smile.

The moment was perfect. Izumo's bed was surrounded by snow white pillar candles set at different heights; this was a ritual.

Wax slowly spilled over the sides of the candles as time passed. Every second longer was a step into the pair's own little world. Breaths coincided; Kotetsu intertwined his fingers with Izumo's.

"You're beautiful." Izumo reached up to hold Kotetsu's face in his hand.

Kotetsu mirrored the love and adoration on Izumo's face, allowing his eyes to close slightly. He leaned into Izumo's touch.

He reached down and brushed Izumo's bangs away from his concealed eye. He smiled slightly. "You're the beautiful one."

Kotetsu leaned down and kissed Izumo's sweet lips softly. This was how things were supposed to be. Truly, Izumo was his missing half. They were born two people, but were meant to be one. Like two pieces of a puzzle, it wasn't the entire picture if they weren't together.

Their bodies fit perfectly, familiarly together. Kotetsu knew exactly where to lick, and Izumo knew exactly what sounds to make.

The pair's hands wandered downward on each other. Kotetsu lay on his side, and Izumo followed his example. Kotetsu's took Izumo's hard length in his hand. Izumo copied him as they gazed into each other's eyes.

This was one of those lazy days. They both liked this kind of day. There was no rush, and the shock and thrill of intimacy was not stifled by lust. This kind of day left their hearts raw, open, and threatening to burst. They could never believe how powerful the feeling was until they were actually there, experiencing it.

It was simply the feeling of sharing the most intimate parts of you with your soul mate.

Kotetsu slid his hand to the back of Izumo's head, paying close attention to the give of his silky hair as he pulled his head forward, pressing their lips together as Izumo came.

A few moments later, Izumo slid his free hand to the side of Kotetsu's face, placing his forehead gently on Kotetsu's, sighing softly as Kotetsu coated his hand in his own cum.

They panted against each other's lips for a few moments before opening their eyes. The candles were getting dim, and the room was now saturated with the scent of tiare flowers and the two chuunin.

Kotetsu smiled as Izumo's eyes drooped. He rolled off the bed, picked him up, and carried him into the shower, where he cleaned them both up. After changing the sheets on the bed, he laid Izumo down on his side. He blew out all the candles, and then crawled behind Izumo.

It was as if they were made to sleep like this. They were very soon asleep, Izumo's hand resting atop Kotetsu's hand, which guarded his heart.
