Warnings: none
Word Count: 221
Author's Notes: Okay, so I was meandering around Watson's Woes and had absolutely no intention of actually writing anything and I came across the prompt list and this plot bunny jumped out of the bushes and screamed "WRITE ME DOWN!" I obliged. I am SOO not doing the whole table, because I'm not good at drabbles, much less 221b's. This is number 88 from the second prompt table.

Keep in mind this is my very first Sherlock Holmes fic, and I never had any intention of writing it. Darn plot bunnies are slave drivers, lol. I don't have the writing style for Holmes, and for that I apologize. But I really liked how it came out.

Oh yeah, and I don't own Sherlock Holmes. Go figure.

#88 - Collapse

To be perfectly honest, there was really no one to blame but himself – unless he took to blaming karma, perhaps. He had always pestered his flatmate about his eating habits, cajoled and annoyed the consulting detective into eating something between the mad hunts for crime that often lasted until midnight.

It had become a routine over the years. Holmes would snap that he couldn't possibly eat until after some piece of evidence was found, some suspect located. Watson would remind him that the human body does not run on tobacco and cocaine, and force him to sit at the breakfast table. Holmes would pause in stubborn defiance, glaring at his friend as he stuffed exactly one bite of toast in his mouth before waltzing imperiously to the door.

"You're going to collapse if you don't take care of yourself, Holmes!"

Watson should have known the words would come back to haunt him. They were pounding in his head as his knees turned to water, dropping him unceremoniously to the cold street. He heard Holmes's clattering footsteps pause in front of him.

Insufferable fool could run a marathon after three days with no food or drink, he groused to himself. He won't ever let me forget this.

"You're going to collapse if you don't take care of yourself, Watson." Holmes parroted brightly
