It is a dark and cool night when Kagome opens her eyes and looks around. "Inuyasha. Shippo. Miroku. Sango." she looks around some more. "Where are you?" asks Kagome. Kagome notices that she is in a small tent that doesn't look very familiar. A strange man enters the tent. "Hello. I didn't think you would be up yet." he replied. "My name is Vegeta." he looks at Kagome. "What's your name?" he asks. "I'm Kagome and you are?" she asks. "The name's Vegeta. Nice to meet you." Vegeta says. "Could you please tell me how I got here?" Kagome asks politely. "Sure thing miss. I was walking along the stream getting water when I noticed something lying there in the bushes. When I went for a closer look, I saw you lying there and looking awfully hurt. So I picked you up and brought you back here to help you get better." Vegeta explains. Kagome starts to think about what happened yesterday. "That's right," she thinks, "that bird youkai carried me off and dropped me after I hit him with an arrow." Vegeta looks at Kagome and says, "You should rest now." Kagome nods her head and drifts off to sleep wondering about Inuyasha. Inuyasha is sitting in a tree when Miroku comes up under the tree. "Where do you think Kagome is Inuyasha?" the Buddhist priest asks. Inuyasha drops his head and replies, "I really don't know but I know that we will find her. I'll make sure of that." Miroku nods and walks back to their camp sight. Shippo, Sango, and Miroku than go to sleep wondering where Kagome is. Inuyasha looks back at them and then back up at the moon. "Wherever you are Kagome, I promise I'm going to find you. I miss you Kagome." sighs Inuyasha. He falls asleep in the tree watching over the group and worrying about Kagome and her safety. Inuyasha awoke with a stir when he hears a rustling in the trees. He turns around suddenly looking for the source of the noise. Inuyasha sees Shippo sitting on a tree branch. Inuyasha sighs and thinks, "I know the feeling Shippo." "Inuyasha." Shippo says softly. Inuyasha looks at Shippo and waits for him to continue. "Do you think Kagome is okay?" Shippo asks hopefully. "I'm sure of it." Inuyasha says smiling. Shippo smiles in response and looks up at the moon. "I miss her. She means a bunch to me. Please tell me we are going to find her soon." Shippo sighs. "I promise you we will start looking in the morning and we won't stop until we find her." says Inuyasha reassuringly. Shippo nods his head. "Now get some sleep. You're going to need it for the long day ahead." Inuyasha says. "Right" Shippo nods in agreement. Shippo looks up at the stars, "Good night Kagome. We'll be there soon." Shippo then gets down, goes back to the camp sight, and lies down between Sango and Kirara. "Soon," Inuyasha whispers to the night sky, "We will find you soon Kagome. Don't lose hope." Inuyasha then looks up at the moon and stays awake the rest of the night wondering where to look. Kagome wakes up again to see the sun shining brightly. She walks outside and looks around for Vegeta. "Vegeta." Kagome calls out looking around. She hears a groan and runs to the source. There, Kagome finds Vegeta lying face down in a pool of blood. Kagome turns him over to see Vegeta has been attacked by something. "Vegeta!" Kagome screams. "What happened?" "It was a youkai." Says Vegeta before he is taken over with pain and faints. "What do I do?" Kagome thinks. "I have to get him inside now." Kagome says and drags him toward the house. She pulls his shirt off and notices the wound. "This wound is very deep." Kagome thinks. Kagome then gets up and starts to clean his wound.

What could have done this? I hope you really like this start of the story.
