Percy and Annabeth had just left Leo's apartment. He had thrown a party with the rest of the seven, Calypso, Nico, Reyna, Grover and Juniper. They were walking down the sidewalk in New York, past Central Park. Percy suddenly turned left, away from his and Annabeth's apartment.
"What are we doing Percy?" questioned Annabeth
"Oh, nothing." Replied Percy with a smirk.
"Seriously, where are you taking me?" giggled Annabeth.
"Florida." Said Percy jokingly.
He stopped at a bench in front of a statue of Athena. He led them to a bench and they sat down.
"Percy what are we doing?" asked Annabeth.
"Err-"Responded Percy anxiously.
Percy glances to the side. Annabeth thinks she sees Piper rush behind a bush out of the corner of her eye.
"Was that-?" says Annabeth.
Percy gets up and walks over to a tree, Annabeth is looking at him like he is crazy. A hand comes out from the side of a tree, with a box, handing it to Percy. As he walks back toward her, various hands come out behind trees and bushes handing him two plates, forks and a knife.
Percy sets the things down on the bench. There is a blue cake in the box. Percy opens the box and pulls a piece of paper from his pocket.
'Is that a diagram?' wonders Annabeth.
After studying the diagram, Percy cuts a piece of cake for each of them and places them on the plates with a fork. He hands it to Annabeth.
"Percy, what the heck is going on?" Asks Annabeth forcefully.
"Eat the cake." Says Percy nervously.
Annabeth takes a bite. She chews slowly with a questioning look. Percy nods, urging her to eat more. She takes another bit, as she chews, he bites on something hard. She turns to the side and removes it from her mouth.
It's a ring. A silver band with a sapphire in the center and little diamonds on the sides. It's covered in chewed blue cake and spit.
"Oh, Percy," says Annabeth, eyes wide in surprise.
Hazel sprints up with a napkin, takes the ring from Annabeth, cleans it and hands it to Percy. Percy gets down on one knee.
"Annabeth Chase, you are the smartest person I know. You are kind, caring, beautiful, brave, and wise and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" says Percy.
"Seaweed Brain, of course I will!" exclaims Annabeth.
Percy stands, pulling Annabeth up. He kisses her hard on the lips. She kisses back passionately. His face cupped in her hands, his hands on her waist, pulling her closer.
All of the seven and Grover, Calypso, Nico, Reyna, and Juniper come out from behind various bushes and trees, applauding.
Percy and Annabeth pull apart, hugging each other tightly. They separate and Percy slips the ring onto Annabeth's finger.
Annabeth laughs and squeals at the same time as she kisses Percy quickly and goes to talk excitedly with Piper, Juniper, Reyna, Hazel, and Calypso.
All the guys go up to Percy and pat him on the back.
"Nice job bro" says Jason.
"Persassy for the win!" shouts Leo.
After everyone disperses, Annabeth and Percy head back to their apartment. Annabeth's head resting on Percy's shoulder.
"I love you, Seaweed Brain." Says Annabeth.
"I love you too, Annabeth." Says Percy.
