"Neal, GET OUT." Kel said, an outburst of emotion pouring through her.

"It's not like I haven't seen you change before," exasperated at his friend's insistence.

"If you don't shut up and get out, I'll start my glave practice early, just for you," ending sweetly.

"I need to talk to you, it's about Dom, Kel."

"What about him?"

"He's into flirting Kel, and if you're just another fling then what will you do after, he can ruin your reputation-"

"What reputation," Kel exclaimed. Ever since joining the King's Own, she had been rumored to be in bed with half the company.

"You're a virgin, and anyone with sense can see that," Neal retorted, and then with disgust added "despite the kisses in the middle of the ballroom floor."

"But What, how do you know that, for all you could know, I did sleep with the entire company!"

"I'm a healer Kel."

"For your information, I only kissed him once in the ballroom."

"And what about the rest of the ballroom," Neal exclaimed, pulling his hair out.

"Anyways, what's your point?" Kel replied, getting exasperated with her friend was nothing new.

"Just be careful, and don't let yourself fall too much in love," replied Neal. "No don't say anything, let me finish speaking. Dom flirts, and he flirts a little too long, and I've seen the results elsewhere, not to mention broken hearts."

"I'm not one of those silly city chits, Neal, I can look after myself."

"I know, but this is beyond your knowledge"

"And not yours. I don't think you know your cousin that well Meathead."

"And why do you think that?"

"Because we've…we've been sleeping together…for months now."

"Oh no, you're already in love aren't you," Neal said, weariness filling his voice.

"What's wrong with love Neal! Or are you so entrenched in your own egotistic self that you think no one should be in love."

"No it's not that, Kel, I just am afraid of what'll happen to you. You know I take your interests to heart."

"Well don't worry your pretty little head over it. Yesterday I was searching for my cats, I found this on it's paw." Kel answered smugly pulling out a ring from her pocket.

Shock. "He proposed to you!"

"No, but he will."

6 Months later…

"I guess you were right," after a short pause, Neal pulled out a gold chain, in a box, "Here, it's your wedding present, in lieu of the gold noble I owe you from our bet."

"Thanks Neal," Kel answered as joy filled her features, she hugged her best friend and almost cousin-in-law. "You're the best."
