A really short fic for Christmas! I have a few other stories that I didn't post yet ;)

LINE BREAK!

Christmas.

She sits next to her simple fireplace and thought about a different Christmas. She wonders whether people would be joking around and laughing. Actions that are foreign to her. Maybe people would hug each other, or a kiss on the cheek, even. Their food would be wonderful, with turkey and vegetables. And they would be wearing different clothes. And being able to look in a mirror without, you're parents scolding you.

Tris was wondering about this because here, in Abnegation, people would merely nod to acknowledge each other. People discourage public affection. Their food is simple. And repetitive. So are their gray clothing. She wasn't allowed to look in a mirror, after all, it suggested vanity and greediness.

She was so close to choosing Dauntless. But her father's eyes said not to.

Not to choose a different fraction.

Like her brother Caleb did.

But it was tempting. Tempting wear different clothes, in black instead of gray. Tempting to eat something different. Tempting to-never mind she thought. Don't fret over past decisions.

After all, she was just wondering.
