More Than You Know

It was a quiet day. Bobby didn't have any more cases for Dean and Sam, so they had decided to stay at his junkyard for the next week. After two nights of doing nothing, Dean was scrunching with nerves, he needed to do something. Fast.

"I'm going out Sammy," Dean told his brother.

"Where are you going?"

"Down the road to that bar."

Sam decided that he was going to read more on demons and their weaknesses, while Bobby cleaned the guns. All of a sudden there was a knock on the front door. All heads snapped to attention and then their bodies sprang into action.

Sam would be to the left of the Door with Dean behind the bar while Bobby would open.

The knocking became urgent and before Bobby could open the door a voice sounded from the other side.

"PLEASE OPEN UP! SHE'S HURT AND NEEDS HELP! PLEASE!" an unknown male voice shouted. Bobby cautiously opened the door. He ended up facing a man in his late thirties whose hair was starting to show some grey holding a woman with bushy brown hair and blood all over her.

"Oh, thank god, please she's dying she needs help and you were the closest house. Please let us in." the man asked Bobby.

"Yes, come on in." Bobby announced and moved out of the way. Dean popped up from behind the bar and Sam relaxed his grip on the gun.

"Thank you, thank you!" the man said. The unknown male made it two steps into the house before he became stuck. "What the…?"

"I'M SUCH AN IDJIT!" Bobby shouted as Dean pulled the trigger and fired at the young man. The bullet lodged into the man's shoulder as he dropped the woman onto the floor.

"Did you think we weren't going to be able to detect a demon?" Sam said, but to his surprise the newly discovered demon paid no attention to the three hunters in the room at all. The demon didn't even pay attention to his bleeding shoulder.

"Hermione, Hermione! No. No. NO PLEASE! HOLD ON JUST A LITTLE LONGER!" The demon who had tears streaking from his coal black eyes turned to the one who had let him in. "Please I don't care what you do to me, but please help her. Please I can't bear to lose her. Please just help her. She can't die, she just can't." As he said these words his voice broke. "PLEASE JUST HELP HER!"

Bobby just stared at the demon who seemed to be going quite mad. As seconds ticked by the demon clutched at the body of the woman moving his body back and forth muttering, "please, please don't die. I need you. I love you. My Hermione."

"Bobby, don't listen to him. He's a demon, he is just trying to trick us." Dean said from the sidelines.

Bobby wasn't listening. His mind was back to when he lost his own love. Bobby finally came to a decision.

"You will stay in the circle and I will take…Hermione and fix her up. One wrong move and we will kill you faster than you can blink."

"Bobby you can't be serious!" Sam said at the same time Dean replied with, "and you call us idjits." Sam and Dean began to argue, speaking over one another getting progressively louder and louder.

"Thank you." The man's soft voice cut through the others causing silence to ring throughout the room. Releasing the woman in his arms the demon pushed her as close to the edge of the circle as much as he could. "Please, just heal her."

Bobby nodded showing that he understood the request before picking up the really quite small woman and carrying her upstairs.

Moments ticked by.

"Why would you save a woman's life?" Sam asked the demon who was currently sitting motionless inside the demon trap with his head on his legs silently crying.

Lifting his head, he looked at the younger Winchester brother.

"I love her."

Dean laughed, "Demons can't love, they take what they want, and they don't care who they hurt as long as they get it. You're obviously faking it." With that the silence settled over the three of them again.

The silence was only cut by the ticking of the clock. A few more moments passed by before Bobby called Dean upstairs to help him with the woman and Sam was left alone. Only two more minutes passed before Sam was asking another question.

"How did you fall in love?"

The demon looked at the young man. "I don't know exactly how or exactly when, but then again how does anyone fall in love?" The demon with the black hair and grey-blue eyes had stopped crying and was now looking at the floor. "I left hell a long time ago. I was tired of the torture and the screams, it became a punishment for me to even stand there and watch. So, I left. I met Hermione in her bookstore, she had my heart as soon as I laid eyes on her. Now that I think of it that was the moment she had my heart." The demon's eyes softened and became distant as he talked. Sam didn't want to interrupt, sometimes he himself got like this when thinking about Jessica.

Time ticked on. Sam thinking about the demon and the demon thinking about the injured woman upstairs.

Soon two heavy footsteps came down the stairs. As soon as Bobby and Dean came into the room the demon stood up and got as close to the edge of the circle as he could.

"Will she be alright? Is she okay?" he asked.

Bobby sighed, "She'll be fine. Got a bump on her head and a few scrapes, but she should be awake by morning." The demon gave an audible sigh of relief, but Bobby continued, "That bein' said we got to talk. Like who you are and what are you doing with an injured human woman in your arms on the doorstep of a hunter's home?"

The demon looked at all three wearily. Dean just wanted to rid the world of another demon and was obviously not happy with the inquisition, but he had to admit that he was slightly curious as well.

A few seconds passed before the demon ran a hand through his black hair and started to talk. "It's kind of a long story so this is going to take awhile. I suggest you pull up a few chairs."

"Humph. It's not like we had anything better to do." Dean muttered under his breath.

After everyone was settled the demon began.

"I guess I should start with who I am. My name is Calu, but the name I go by here on earth is Calum Smith. You can just call me Cal."

"Unlikely" Dean muttered. Cal shot him an irritated look; now that his love was in less danger Cal was beginning to see just how irritating Dean was.

"Before I start I want all of your word that Hermione will not be harmed by any of you." Bobby and Sam readily agreed while Dean only narrowed his eyes. After Sam elbowed him in the gut he muttered a reluctant 'yes' to which Bobby responded with a roll of his eyes and an 'idjit' under his breath.

"Hermione's my wife." Cal would've laughed had this situation been any different. The faces of the three hunters went from shock to curiosity and in the case of Dean, to horror.

"How does that work?"

"OH, FOR FUCKS SAKE!"

"What?" All three hunters said at once.

With an annoyed look on his face Cal continued, "Yes, she is my wife, no, I did not trick her, and yes, I love her dearly. Can I get on with my story or do you want to pick at this?" When none of them replied he once again continued.

"As I told moose boy over there, I met Hermione in her bookstore."

Cal walked down a street in London. He was looking for a good book on the history of a local castle. He spotted a Bookstore that looked promising and he crossed the street. As he walked in he was hit with the smell of paper, dust, and ink. It was a wonderful fragrance. When he entered a small bell tinkled, and a sweet, confident voice answered it from the back.

"I'll be right there."

Cal waited at the front desk. He heard shuffling from his right and as he turned to look a small woman with wild brown hair came around the corner. Her smile was blinding, and her chocolate eyes looked at him with genuine happiness.

Cal's heart was stolen at that moment. He just didn't know it yet. After a few moments passed he noticed that her smile had turned into a frown. Cal blushed as he realized that she had asked him a question.

He knew his face was as red as a cherry, "Oh I'm so sorry, what did you say?" Her smile returned full force and Cal had to resist from bending down and seeing if he could taste the happiness that she seemed to be radiating.

"I was just saying Hi, and that my name is Hermione. I'm the owner of this bookstore, what can I help you find?"

"Hi…um…oh yeah right, name! My name is Calum Smith, but you can call me Cal. I'm looking for a book on a local castle. Here." Cal said as he handed her a piece of paper with the information on it.

After taking a few seconds to read the note she granted him another one of her bright smiles. "I love the history behind this castle, I know exactly what books you need." Indicating him to follow her, she led him into a corner of the bookstore.

While his lovely Hermione focused on looking for his book, Cal closed his eyes and took a few minutes to collect himself. 'You are a demon, an instrument of hell, she wouldn't want you. No woman would want you so stop while you're ahead.' Feeling calmer Cal opened his eyes only to immediately close them again.

'Sweet lucifer' he thought. No matter how hard he tried the image of her little arse shifting from side to side as she bent down to look at the books on the bottom shelf in her tight jeans would not leave his brain.

"Is everything alright Cal?" Hermione asked him. He opened his eyes, looking down into her own chocolate ones.

"Yes. Don't worry love, I just had a dizzy spell." Hermione didn't seem to notice the term of endearment as her eyebrows drew down and her nose scrunched up in a way that Cal deem to be as adorable as a kitten with a ball of string.

"Follow me, you need to sit down. I'll go get you some water." Hermione led Cal to a stool behind the register and left him to grab a water from the back room. Leaving Cal alone with his thoughts.

Putting his head in his hands Cal tried to sort out his thoughts. 'I'm a demon, what will she do when she eventually finds out? What about my longer life span? Do I even deserve her?' Suddenly an image of her smiling up at him came unbidden into his mind. 'When was the last time a woman had looked at me like that?'

"What are you thinking so hard about?" Hermione asked startling him out of his thoughts.

"Nothing. The dizziness returned"

"Oh, okay. Well I got you some water."

A few moments passed before the words Cal had been thinking push passed his lips before they consulted his brain.

"Have dinner with me please?"

Hermione was looking at him with her eyes wide and mouth open. As time went on Cal felt like he had a stone in his stomach. It was a feeling he had never had before. He was about to retract his question and crawl out of the store.

"Yes." It was soft, almost inaudible, but it made Cal snap his head up to meet her eyes.

"I close the shop at six if you want to pick me up at seven?" She nibbled her bottom lip as she said this. Cal recognized this as a nervous tick. He then smiled wide.

"I will pick you up at seven." Cal said before bending down to whisper in her ear, "I must go so I can find the best restaurant to take a gorgeous woman to." As he pulled back he could see her cheeks turn a lovely shade of red. Cal was reluctant to leave her presence so soon, but he wanted their first date to be perfect. "I'll see you tonight," he told her before he turned to head towards the door.

"Wait." Turning back around he looked at the woman who had unknowingly taken his heart. She placed her hands on his shoulders pulling herself up to his face. Softly she placed her lips to his cheek giving him a small peck.

"Goodbye."

After that first date, they met each other at least once a week. When Hermione learned that Cal was a demon she was in shock at first before throwing her arms around his neck and snogging him breathless.

That was also the first time that they told each other that they loved each other. Cal met her family and Hermione had accepted him for who he was. They still had their fights, but they never walked away mad and always found a way to talk it out.

It was eight months later when Cal realized how far his love for her went. He had begun to notice that something was wrong. Hermione began to act colder towards him and was pulling away. Horrible thoughts flew through his head. Terrible scenarios being played like a film causing him to panic.

'Did she find someone new?'

'Did she come to her senses and decided that being with a demon was too much?'

After a couple hours of this Cal couldn't take it anymore. "Hermione, can you come in here please?" Hermione walked in and sat on the couch with her lip between her set of pearly white teeth. "Why have you been pulling away from me Hermione?"

Hermione took a deep breath, "Cal…I…um…do you still love me?" Cal was now extremely confused.

"Of course, I do love. You are the best thing that has happened to me since I left hell."

"…Do you find me attractive?" The reason for his Hermione's distance finally became clear to him in that instance.

"Hermione is that why you have been pulling away from me?" Cal asked her. Hermione nodded, albeit a little hesitantly and Cal breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, my love. I didn't want to push you." Hermione was looking at Cal with heat, love, and a bit of hesitance. "Now listen to me my Hermione, my love, I have to take a cold shower every night when I return home because I react so strongly to you. I have to fight myself continuously to not throw you over my shoulder and drag you to bed like a neanderthal. I have to resist the temptation of having my way with you until you can't walk. Hermione, love, I see myself as only yours and I didn't want to screw it up by going by making you feel uncomfortable. Please forgive me."

By the time Cal had finished Hermione's pupils were dilated and her breathing was labored. Cal waited for Hermione to make a decision. He prayed she didn't leave, he could already feel his heart breaking the longer Hermione didn't move. Cal could feel the overwhelming sadness start to make itself known along with the tears.

Hermione seemed to finally come out of her stupor and lunged at him before he could get up. She planted her lips on his and began to snog the life out of him. "I love you so so much Cal. I'm sorry I've been so distant. I have been wanting you for so long please just take me. Right. Now."

Cal groaned, "Hermione are you sure? There is no going back."

Hermione straddled his lap and brought her mouth to his ear, "Calum Smith, if you don't take me to bed right now I will walk out that door." That was the motivation that he needed and grabbing Hermione by her ass, Cal picked her up and took her to her room all the while kissing her like his life depended on it and in a way it did.

Cal showed Hermione just how much he loved her that night. He made sure they both made it to her bed before he allowed himself to go down on her. Cal had decided, as she gripped his hair, that she was absolutely breathtaking when she came undone for him.

As she came down from her orgasm, he crawled back up her body giving her licks and nips on her breasts as he passed them. He was hot, hard, and ready. When he finally pushed into her warm depths he whispered her name like a prayer, caressing each syllable. When he was fully seated inside of her he paused, his breath coming out in hot puffs of air as he tried not to explode so early.

"I love you." He told her before he began to move in and out, that age-old rhythm thrumming through both of their bodies. It wasn't long before they came to the cliff, both minds blank, only feeling their love for one another.

She screamed his name as she went over the edge, pulling him along. As he went over a few strokes later, he screamed her name into her shoulder and into the heavens at the same time. He stayed above and inside her for what felt like an eternity. Finally, he lifted his head from her shoulder and after giving her a thorough snogging, he rolled off her and gathered her into his arms. He could tell they both were drowsy and ready to sleep.

"I love you, Hermione."

"And I love you, Cal."

The next day Cal moved in with Hermione. Everyday that Cal spent with Hermione was another day that she stole a little bit more of his heart until there was nothing left to give. Something that Cal knew was very dangerous, but he could not bring himself to care. Three months after Cal moved in with Hermione he decided that it was time to take the next step with her. Unfortunately, Cal was having a difficult time finding the right ring.

"Sir can I help you with anything?" a middle-aged woman came up to him. Cal was visiting yet another jewelry store to try and find the perfect ring.

"Yes, I am looking for a ring to propose to my girlfriend I was just looking at your selection."

"Ah, romance. What is your girlfriend like?"

"She is gorgeous, but not in your face about it. She doesn't like big flashy things and her favorite things are books. She is a dedicated bookworm."

"Hmmm. Oh, I have just the thing." The woman went to the back of the store and soon enough came back to Cal who was still standing at the counter. "This was a custom piece for a man to give to his fiancé a few weeks back. Poor lad, the girl had said no. He didn't tell me why, but if you like it I would be willing to cut the price in half for you."

The ring was beautiful in its simple design. A gold twist with a small cut diamond right in the center. It was perfect.

"Thank you. She'll love this!" Cal said as he looked to the woman his grin never leaving his face. After purchasing the ring Cal had more of a bounce in his step. The ring box placed carefully in his pocket.

"Goodbye dear. I do hope she says yes."

Cal only grinned and said, "I know she will!"

That night Cal made a perfect dinner for the two of them. Low light, with candles and roses and Hermione's favorite music playing in the background.

Hermione walked in, her eyes lighting up when she saw Cal. It was an evening of romance, something that Cal was only used to recently. Since meeting Hermione, he couldn't help but to research and find what women found the most romantic. Cal was observant enough to realize that she had some self-esteem issues; so, he wanted to show her how beautiful he found her every day.

After a lovely meal and hours spent talking it was finally the right time. Cal pulled Hermione up from the chair she was sitting on. Hermione always looked adorable with her brows drawn down in concentration and her nose wrinkled in confusion.

"Hermione, my love, from the moment that I saw you I was entranced. I love you and I'm doing something neither I or any other demon I known of has ever done before. Will you marry me?"

Not expecting that her reaction would be to wrap him in a bear hug, both of them toppled to the floor as Hermione attacked her now fiancé with a fierceness that lions would have been proud of. She kissed all over his face repeating one word over and over again: 'yes'. When she took a breath, she looked into his eyes and whispered yes putting all of her love into that one single word before snogging him like only his wife has the right to do.

The last thing Cal said were the four words he would never stop thinking.

"God, I love you."

The wedding was a small affair. It was just the two of them and a few close friends. Cal had never been as happy as when Hermione said I do. After the wedding reception they hopped onto a plane to take them to their honey moon- a nice trip to the Bahamas (Unfortunately they didn't get to see many of the sights).

Time went on and soon enough it was a year later since they were married and still very much in love. Many said that they would leave the honey moon phase soon, and other still, said that they would never leave.

Hermione had gotten an offer to expand her bookstore chain to America. So, as it was four months later they found themselves in the United States visiting some places and looking for buildings in major cities to open up a new store.

It was late at night, but it was decided that they would rather get to New York early as neither were tired and both were eager to see the famous city. Unfortunately, their car decided to stall out on them.

"Have you found the problem?" Hermione asked Cal, who was bent over looking at the engine.

"Nope, I have no idea what went wrong."

"Well we can sleep in the car until morning. I don't like the idea of trying to find our way through the dark."

"I agree." Suddenly something grabbed Hermione and dragged her through the woods.

"No, Hermione!" Cal screamed as he ran after her. It was only when she started to scream- a scream Cal only heard when she had nightmares- that he tapped into his demon power. Finally, Cal was able to catch up. Red flooded his vision as he saw a disgusting creature open its maw wide, preparing to bite his love's neck. It was then that Cal did something he hadn't done in forever.

He tortured and then killed. Blood flowed as the creature suffered a fate worse than death, its screams were heard for miles and even the wind itself ceased to blow as the screams were wrung from the pitiful creature's lips. After Cal was finished he turned to his love, only to see her barely breathing and bloody. It was at this point that Cal grew fearful.

'What had he done? How would Hermione react?' Cal frantically thought before shaking his head. 'First priority is to see that Hermione is alive enough to reject me. She may want to leave me, but I refuse to live in a world where she is dead.'

Cal gathered Hermione into his arms and looked around. He remembered a dilapidated junkyard they had passed a few minutes before their car broke down. "Hermione stay with me, come on love not much further. Come on." As Cal ran tears started to fall while her heart beat started to slow. He looked like a mad man as he ran full force through the woods.

As Cal ran to the door he began to get a bad feeling about it. Despite this he still knocked on the door, desprate for someone to help.

"PLEASE OPEN UP! SHE'S HURT AND NEEDS HELP! PLEASE!"

The room was silent as Cal finished his story. The silence lasted only for a few minutes, but what broke the silence was screaming coming from the second floor. Cal immediately stood up and walked to the edge of the demon trap looking towards the stairs. Bobby, Dean, and Sam immediately stood and reached for their guns.

"Please let me out! It's just her nightmares, please I can help her." Cal cried as the three men made their way to the stairs.

"Sam, you go and investigate while I stay with Dean down here." Bobby told them as Hermione's screams continued and as Cal continued begging them to let him go.

Bobby and Dean waited the bottom of the stairs as Hermione's wails rang on throughout the house. Sam came back down the stairs with his hands covering his ears.

"I can't wake her up and I can't get her to stop screaming!" Sam yelled. After giving each other a look, they turned to Cal who was staring at them with a look of pure hopefulness and eagerness.

"Okay, we'll let yo…"

"No! Are you insane? He's a demon!" Dean said cutting off Bobby.

Sam turned towards his brother, "Do you really want to hear her scream for the rest of the night?" Dean looked like he was going to continue to argue before Bobby returned the favor and cut him off.

"Call Castiel."

Immediately all conversation stopped. After narrowing his eyes, Dean shrugged, he was okay with the suggestion and prayed to Cas. Soon after Cas himself appeared.

"Cas good to see you! We need your help to keep an eye on that demon over there." Dean said.

"Do you need me to destroy him? And who is screaming? Is someone doing the BDSM that you told me about Dean?" Cas replied.

"Eww Cas, no. It is that demon's wife."

"Demons can't love Dean"

Cal snarled, "I love my wife, and don't you dare touch her."

"She is suffering. What can you do to help her?" Cas replied back with a tilt of his head.

"I can calm her." A few seconds passed before Cas turned and nodded to Dean, Sam, and Bobby.

"You can let him out. I will watch him." Bobby nodded and went to let Cal out of the demon trap.

As soon as he was free the demon immediately headed for the source of the screams with the other three men and one angel following him. When Cal opened the worn wooden door the sight that met his eyes broke his heart and the tears started to run from his eyes anew.

Hermione was sweating profusely; the thin sheet was stuck to her body and drenched in her sweat. Most of her body was covered in bandages and her voice was hoarse from the screaming. Tears were pouring out of her closed eyes and Cal felt frozen in a moment of time as his love released a painful sounding scream that rattled the bones of every occupant in the room.

"PLEASE IT'S A FAKE. A FAKE. PLEASE NO. NO MORE. STOP!"

Cal finally was able to move his feet and after kicking off his shoes he climbed into bed with his Hermione. He wasn't too happy about the four men staring at them like perverts, but he had his love back in his arms. He couldn't be happier.

As soon as Cal wrapped his arms around his Hermione she immediately calmed down. A few moments passed before her tears completely stopped and she gave a contented sigh snuggling into the warmth Cal provided.

"Well, I'll be damned." Bobby said under his breath. It didn't escape anyone's notice that Cal completely ignored the others in the room as he was busy whispering sweet nothings to his wife. After almost a half-hour of watching the couple Bobby and Sam decided to go back downstairs. Another hour passed before Dean decided to go sleep, leaving Castiel to watch the couple sleeping in each other's arms. Castiel watched in curiosity as the two slept on.

The first thing that registered to Hermione's sleepy head was that there plenty of warmth and no pain. She knew the warmth came from her Cal and after trying, and failing, to go back to sleep she opened her eyes. After making sure her Cal was still asleep she sat up in bed. Looking right into the eyes of Cas.

….

"Ummm Hi?" Hermione asked nervously. Cas merely tilted his head at her and she resisted laughing like a loon at the gesture. "My name is Hermione Smith, what's yours?"

"Castiel."

"I'm assuming you are an angel."

"How do you know that?"

"I can see the wings on your back. …Are you going to hurt my Cal?"

"…No. I can see he truly loves you, no matter how…strange it is."

"Where are we?"

Before Cas could answer the door opened to reveal Bobby standing in the doorway.

"I see you're awake. Would you like something to eat? Names Bobby by the way."

"Thank you, Bobby, I can make breakfast for everyone if you show me where the kitchen is."

"You don't have to do that, I'm sure your husband there would not like it if you were up and about so soon."

"I can't thank you enough, both for healing me and providing for both of us."

"No problem." Bobby went to go to the kitchen when he was stopped by the woman on the bed.

"Wait. I have a question." Bobby indicated for her to continue. "Are you a hunter?"

"…Yes, and there are two others in the house right now." Hermione stiffened.

"Are they going to hurt Cal?"

Bobby looked Hermione in the eye, "No. We've already sorted out our differences."

"Thank You."

Bobby was down in the kitchen preparing breakfast when the Winchester boys came in.

"Is the world ending? Why the hell are you cooking Bobby?" Dean said from the doorway.

"The girl woke up idjit, I'm making her something to eat."

"Is Cal up as well?" Sam asked before his brother could dig himself deeper into a hole.

"Don't think so."

"What are we going to do with him?" Dean asked. There was a slight pause before Bobby replied.

"I don't know."

Back up in the bedroom Cal had finally woken up. His eyes met Hermione's and she said what she always did in the mornings.

"Hello love." Not replying Cal immediately set to work making sure his Hermione was okay.

He rubbed his hands gently over her bandaged arms all the while shooting off questions, "Are you alright? Does anything hurt? Do you need the dittany? Pain potion? Anything? I should hav…"

"Cal…Cal…CALUM SMITH shut up and listen, I am alright, I don't feel any pain and you could not have remembered my bag because of the situation. You don't need to worry, except for being a little hungry I am fine. I am more concerned with how you are. We are, after all, in the home of three hunters."

"I'm fine love, they had me trapped in a demon circle, but besides a gun shot wound in my shoulder I'm fine. Look the wound isn't even there anymore. They didn't trust me to come up and comfort you when your nightmares came so they got feather brain over there to watch me." After confirming that each other were safe they look once again into each other's eyes before their lips met in a passionate, bruising embrace. They didn't know how long they drank from each other, but a cough forced them to pull back.

"Uh, sorry to bother you, but Bobby says that breakfast is ready." Sam said as he stood awkwardly in the doorway looking at the couple; his cheeks bright red and his hand on the back of his neck.

"Okay we'll be right down." After Sam left Hermione turned to her lover. Cal watched as Sam practically ran from the room. When he turned back to his love he could see that she was fighting a giggle.

With a raised eyebrow he asked, "And what, may I ask, do you find so funny love?"

Hermione brought her lips to her Cal's ear whispering, "If they wanted to kill you for being a demon, I wonder how they will react to me being a witch." Cal only laughed in response and kissed her like she was the last woman on earth.

"God, I love you."
