Punishment
'Because I'm just a spare.'
My mind, without my acknowledgement, went back to that happy days but also terrifying days, when I'm just an extra, merely a spare who can be used when the other couldn't take their place. I'm just a child, who craved attention and affection, though I couldn't say that my parents put me aside and gave the priority to the supposed heir. Vaguely, I still can hear his blabbering, ordering me to tell him why I used his name. Honestly I don't really know, it's just feels right to use it. After a moment passed, and I couldn't think another reason, I just smirked and got ready to face him, but when at last I looked at him, who still in his apparent arrogance in the peak of the staircase, I don't know how I should react when I saw someone behind the heir, but in the end, I just smirked and then I could feel that my smirk grew and become a predatory smile.
"Heh…" I snorted and then staggered backwards till I bumped to someone, and once again, I looked down, but this time not for thinking about something, but receiving a memory that should be remembered long before I got myself in this mess. 'Honestly… my life will never be normal' is my last thought before I drowned in the memory.
The atmosphere inside the manor is very tense, with the supposed heir urged the fake heir to told him about the silly name using. Even after some time passed, the supposed fake heir still looked down and couldn't answer the question, with the others looked confused, the former butler looked at the supposed fake heir with a bit disdain, and the current butler just stood beside his master in pensive expression. And when the supposed fake heir looked up at the supposed heir and got ready to open his mouth, suddenly he widened his eyes and then staggered backwards until the current butler got hold of the fake heir, but one thing which all of the occupant didn't miss, that is the smirk turned predatory smile, they all just looked at the fake heir confused, and with the heir a bit annoyed.
"Well… Well… Well… Aren't you a naughty one Ciel Phantomhive." A voice sounded in the silent of the front hall, just behind the heir. All of the head snapped at the direction where the voice came. There… stood behind the heir with an easy-going smile, a handsome man with black hair and black eyes, wore an all-black coat and inside they can see an all-black suit. "You remind me of someone who didn't want to die even if it's their time, though his was because of the un-justice of the world, but you… who have everything in your little hand, don't want to die just because you want to control everything, even the life of human. Honestly all human is so funny that I can't even make tears to fall again because I already spent all of it laughing too much since forever, isn't that right Master?" the man in black babbled and then addressed someone that they do not know.
"I don't, and never will, share your amusement for human, so I don't think so." Came a voice from the figure who leaned to the current butler. All eyes went back to focus in the fake heir who already come back to his balance, and for some reason started to take off his coat, his glove, his ring, his hat and also his eye-patch. All of them hold their breath because the fake heir never took off his eye-patch, and for some reason the heir feels giddy for something, and when the fake opened his eyes, there… in his right eye, a startling emerald-green eyes opened with a slit of black. A startled voice came from behind the fake and an irritating sigh came from the staircase
"Welcome back Master, as expected, green is your colour through and through." The man in black said, this time he already in the bottom of the staircase.
"Hee… I see… it's going back to green." The fake said and then snapped his finger, and automatically his clothes dried from its previous wet condition, and then he snapped his finger again, and his clothes become a formal-wear suit in black with a white-button-up-shirt, a black trouser, a black tie, black socks, black formal shoes, and last a black long coat. "And, what's the meaning of your prelude?"
"Ah… well… I think you already find the answer Master, after all you are a genius in this kind of work."
"Yes… Yes… after working with you couples of thousand years I already know all about this work." The fake sighed, but before he could continue his rant, the door opened roughly and entered the shinigami. But before the shinigami said anything, the man in black called their name.
"Grell Suitclife and Othelo, right?"
"Huh… How come…" but before the one named Othelo could finish his sentences, he widened his eyes when his view fixed in the figure of man in black, "YOU…" he shouted and got the attention of Grell, who headed his view to the figure in the bottom of staircase, and promptly widened his eyes too.
"What the hell…" Grell said wistfully.
The man in black just smiled, "Well… aren't you two diligent, to think that you would be coming here when there is no one here who will die."
"So that's how… It seems you're the one who is the sick heir, you're that master Sirius they protect and also supplied the blood for. To think the servant of the Queen do something despicable like that… how human fall just because they want immortality, though in this case to prolong the inevitable. So, when should he die?" the fake asked the man in black casually like they are talking about the weather.
"Well… I don't really know precisely, but roughly that is three years ago, in the same day your parents in this world died, though they died because of different reason than your 'brother'."
"So that's why… there is too much scenario from there." The fake hummed and then faced the servant, "Well… because you all are the servant of this manor and because the heir is here, I can't do anything," and then he turned around, "As for you Sebastian, I can't do anything about it, but I'm sorry because the contract dissolved when my memory and also my title returned, so I could only ask you, what will you do?"
But before either the fake nor Sebastian could answer or could do anything, the heir shouted, "WAIT! What is the meaning of this, the heir of Phantomhive is me, the one and only Ciel Phantomhive! Why were you blabbering order here and there like you are the master of this manor?! And that aside, who is that?!" the heir half-shouted half-talked-normally but with clearly angry expression and finally pointed his finger to the man in black rudely.
The man in black just smirked, "You want to know who I am? Even after all the talk about the supposed death of you, you still can't grasp it? Not so brilliant to become the president of a giant corporation and Queen's Watch Dog I see. Heh… Very well… I will introduce myself." And then the man in black face the heir, hand in the chest with a shallow bow, "Good Afternoon, the Earl of Phantomhive. My name is Death, pleasure to meet you and I hope we will get along really well… in the afterlife that is." The man in black, that identified himself as Death smirked a predatory smirk full of teeth. The heir himself widened his eyes and a bit of fear emitted from his being.
"Death, quit joking around. Our schedule is full from here on, and I bet there is a mountain after mountain of paperwork."
"That's right Master, after all that is your job."
"Very well. First, retrieve Agni's body and go to the manor. And also…" the fake trailed but Death just smiled and nodded, then vanished.
"Well Earl Phantomhive, if that is what you want you can take back all of the Phantomhive, I didn't even want it after all. It's a waste of time and I do have more important job to do. Isn't it nice? I already built all there is to build from the scratch, from the company to the trust from the Queen. From here on I bid you good luck." And then the fake just turned around and made his way to the door.
"Are you running away?" The heir whispered just barely can be heard.
The fake stopped from taking another step but didn't turned around, "You could say that, I'm running away, that is if I'm who you say I am, but the circumstance changed, even if I'm running away from you that is not because I'm afraid of you, but because there is much more important thing to do now that I gained back what I lost." Answered the fake calmly.
But it seems that was not a reassurance enough for the heir, "I can't let you live, as long as you live, you are a threat to me. Kill him!" the heir ordered someone who no one knows. But suddenly from the shadow a person emerged and directly lunged to the fake. The fake just turned his head and looked to his attacker from his shoulder.
He sighed and said, "How troublesome." He trailed and then he flicked his wrist and energy-like-sword heading towards the attacker and stabbed the attacker through his heart in a second. "It seems he is the one who attacked Agni, I can feel he is no human. So it seems revenge already served." And then he continued his journey to the door, without seeing the look of horror and fear in his beloved twin brother.
"It seems you are coming with me." I said to the one who closed the door behind me.
"Yes, after all the contract was to you, and beside that I want some explanation." The demon butler said.
I snorted and then offering him my hand, and surprisingly without hesitation he took it. I smiled at him and grasp his hand, but before that, "Grell and Othelo, go back to the headquarter, you are not needed. Though you will lose one soul this lovely evening." And the two shinigami just nodded and then vanished without a trace. "Shall we?" I said and then apparated both of us to the Death's Manor.
After so long I lived, in the Hell or in this world, I still can't believe that the one who contracted to me was, or is, Master to the Death, even if he still didn't acknowledge it, all of the event that rolled in the manor just screamed that, a terrifying title, one who even the Demon avoided when we could.
After he transported us to some sort of manor, or maybe you could say for sure a castle, he turned around and walked away from the original position we landed to enter deeper to the manor. It's a good manor, a perfect blend of darkness and light, as expected of Death's Manor, there isn't two sides, there is just an in between. After some time passed, we finally stopped at a door and without hesitation my former master opened it and showed what is in there. Behind the door there is a room, a simple room, as simple as could be in this Manor, just a king-sized bed, a big wardrobe, a night table, a simple sofa, and a shelf full of book. But that is not what got my attention, the one thing that instantly draw my attention is the one who occupied the bed, one and only body, or corpse, of the Indian Butler, Agni.
"What are you going to do Young Master?" I asked him politely considering our previous 'arrangement' and then there is also the Master of Death business, so I suppose he want me stay as a polite and charming gentleman.
But surprisingly, he snorted and then faced me, "You know, you don't have to call me Young Master again, you can speak to me freely and I will not bat an eye. And to answer your question, I will resurrect Agni, because it's not his time yet, he is destined to something grander than to die in this despicable country. Though if I can say myself, there is nothing but despicable thing in this world, there is just a different perspective depends of the view."
I stared at him for some time and then told him the first thing that come to my mind, "It seems you become wiser than before, Young Master."
Again, he snorted while turned around and then continued his short trek to the bed side. "I don't know which one of us who is older, but when you already life, say, a thousand year, there is no way that I didn't become wisest than before."
I just hummed but inside my mind I'm partly agreed with that statement, "But isn't there going to be a consequence if you took a soul and resurrect the person just like that?"
"Of course there is a consequence Sebastian, there is nothing free in this world. Even if it's me, there will be a payment to pay for my action."
"Then, why did you do it? You can just let the stream to flow even if it is not their time yet." I countered his answer with what I believe and I'm pretty sure that this Master knew about this too, because even if it's not the time for the soul to depart, but there is also no reason to resurrect them when the soul already collected by the Shinigami.
"That's right, why didn't you just let them Master?" Came a voice from the doorway and a figure clad in black entered, "You are still the same as always Master, even after you tainted your soul with your contract with the Demon and after everything that happened to you your soul still as pure as when you born in that world."
"Heh… I'm surprised that my soul still a pure soul, I can even say that I didn't believe that at all. There is no way the abandoned soul can be a pure soul, and I don't really think just because I save one or two soul that makes me a kind and pure soul."
I could only wonder what was the meaning of that statement, for all I know my young master soul was and is a pure soul full of life but also sadness and anguish, that is why I attracted to his soul in the first place, I want to taint it with darkness. 'I wonder how many years I should sacrifice to get his soul just a bit tainted with light grey shade.' I mused, but my musing didn't last longer because my former young master got started to whatever ritual he intended to do.
I silently stood beside him, just watching the ritual, though he didn't really do anything besides closing his eyes, but after some time the surrounding temperature began to drop at a fast rate and then he opened his eyes, which now glowed an eerie emerald and sapphire color. And then he begins to chant in Latin, some words I can get and others I choose to ignore because the realm of death isn't my area to explore. After roughly an hour passed, the temperature began to rise and the chant stopped altogether.
"Why did you want to get me back?" a familiar voice came from beside young master, the voice of Agni in his soul, transparent and all. "Is it guilt?"
"Guilt huh… I wonder if I still can feel guilt." Young master whispered and then straightened his stance and readied himself to answer. "If I should be honest, I don't really care, but your precious life will be wasted if you just ended like that, and 'he' is not ready yet to face the world alone without you. I know that maybe I just got you one year or maybe one day or maybe even shorter than that, but as long as you got that thick-headed to face the reality, that's enough. But I know for sure that you got some years before you passed again. Just accept it, you yourself didn't agree with your death, did you? Because they who accept their death will be really difficult to call, and I called you once and you already here."
"That's right." Agni confirmed, "Then I will take your offer, though as expected of the Master of Death, though I still can't believe that Yama have a master."
"Heh… whatever God of Death you believe in, in the end there is only one Death and I'm the one and only master Death needed." Rather than arrogance like I expected from my young master considering his position, there is only bitterness in his expression and also his voice.
Agni smiled wistfully and then nodded, "Then, I will see you in a minute with my own eyes, please wait for me…" And with that, the soul disappeared, and we begin to wait for the body in the bed to gain its conscious, but before we could dive deeper into the silence, the door that connected the hallway to the room opened roughly by none other than the master of the Indian butler.
"HEY! You black-clothed-creepy guy where the hell are we?!" …There went my peace. And when he looked around the room, his gaze immediately zoomed at the young master with a blaze of rage. "YOU!" and with that shout he stalked inside with haste steps, and without another encouragement, he grabbed young master collar and pull young master hard, but surprisingly young master didn't really react to that rather harsh action.
"Please calm down, you don't have to throw a tantrum just because you didn't want to face the reality and another possibility." Said young master rather calmly, but now there is a wince visible from his expression because of the rather rough treatment he got.
"HOW DARE YOU TO TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! It's because of you that now I'm all alone, it's you who kill Agni, you liar! You traitor!" rather strong of his vocal cord to shouted that full sentences, but before I could react he retracted his free hand and with a rather terrifying speed, he already ready to strike young master.
I could only widen my eyes because I thought there was nothing I should be alarmed about, because logically young master could defend himself and there is also Death who stood just beside me, but Death didn't react and only looked at young master with impassive eyes. But before I could ponder deeper about it, the Prince hand already in its way to strike young master. I readied myself to interfere but then something happened, a hand stopped the Prince hand halfway before the strike could harm young master.
"There is no need to blame another person because the fault of said person brother, you are better than this My Prince." Said a new voice from the bed.
And when our gazes looked at the figure in the bed, I and Death just looked at Agni impassively, young master looked blankly but there is a hint of satisfaction adorned his eyes and also in his slight upturned lips, but the most amusing is the Prince reaction, a perfect resemble of a fish out of its habitat.
And with that, young master rather harshly shoved the Prince backward until the Prince staggered back and almost landed in the floor, but just in time for him to regain his balance and then like a lightning straightened his stance and looked at Agni unbelievably.
"My job is done. I suggest that you and your butler get out of the country as soon as possible. Because of your relation to me there is a possibility that my unexpectedly alive twin brother wanted to eradicate you so there will be no one who can attest that he isn't me." And with that young master turned from the Indian pair, one who still looked at him impassively but there is a hint of confusion and the other looked at him with an understanding, "And this time don't be an idiot and do what I said, this country isn't safe for you two, I will cover your journey back, but after that I am sure that inside your castle the security is secure enough."
"Understood Young Master Death." Answered Agni who got a little nod from young master but got a bewildered look from the Prince.
And just like that, young master walked out of the room. And when young master, I, and Death already outside the room with the door's room closed, he asked me, "Could you do me a favour Sebastian? The last one."
And with a smirk, I crossed my hand to my chest and bowed a little, "Of course Young Master." I said with a bit of sarcasm.
Surprisingly, I got a snort and then a smirk, 'Well… It seems Young Master become more interesting than before, and if I stick around for a while I'm sure I am not going to be bored', I thought. "Well… Could you get all of the Prince and his butler's possession from Phantomhive's House Town and erase all trace that can be pointed as prove for their existence there, but you don't have to fix the house, just left it like the last time we got there, that's all."
"Yes… Understood Young Master." I said simply and then left with my demonic ability to speed up the task, after all he is now the Master of Death so I didn't have to limit my ability anymore as a mere powerful 'human butler'. And as a High-Level Demon, I could finish whatever the Young Master thrown at me with just a thought if I want it.
I smiled a soft smile after the Demon left and Death throw me a questioning glance which I ignored in favour to the other guest that Death brought to the Manor who already stood in front of me, "Well… Hello there, Fräulein Sieglinde Sullivan and her butler, Wolfram Gelzer. Welcome to 'my' Manor." But surprisingly there was only a hint of surprise in her and her butler's eyes.
"As expected. The one who killed the Prince's butler is not you, but another who got the same characteristic as you, and I'm pretty sure whoever they are, one of them are a very close relative of yours. And it seems from this point on, there will be a complication to our relationship." The rather surprising calmness came from the former green witch almost throw me off balance, but as expected from the one who got a responsibility from a young age, she got her obligation sorted well.
"That's right. I don't have time to 'play' anymore, and the rather unfortunate existence of the supposed deceased brother of mine make me have to erase my existence from the world. I'm sorry, I can't protect you anymore, but considering that you have the backing of the Queen Herself, I am pretty sure you will be alright." I said calmly with a bit authority inserted in my speech.
Sullivan gazed at me hard and long, and then from her place in her butler's arm, she sighed and then looked at me with understanding and resignation, "Very well… So, I suppose this will be a farewell." She smiled sadly, "Hope sometimes in the future we can meet without a pretense and just become a friend who enjoyed some banter over some ridiculous things."
And I answered her inquiries with a same sad smile and understanding gaze, "Yes, I hope for the same. To be a friend without any pretense. Farewell Fräulein Sieglinde Sullivan and Herr Wolfram Gelzer." Then just like that, Death flicked its finger and the two of them vanished.
Then for a while there is only silence, but the next moment a familiar voice of the demon butler sounded in the empty hallway, "That's pretty simple of goodbye to and from the only connection you have that worth mentioning." He said and then I focused my attention to the demon, "I already finished the task and they are ready to depart from here and from your life." He continued while showed me two suitcases.
"You shrank their possession." I stated.
"This way they can go incognito without anyone suspecting that something going amiss." He answered.
"Very well… Then, please take care of the last connection, Death. Sebastian, please accompany Death. And after that I want to talk with the two of you about the condition of this mess." And with that I turned around and went to the study in this Manor that I'm sure full of mountains of paperwork.
I followed Death silently, after we sent the Indian pair to their way, to somewhere I predicted to be young master's study. I wonder what kind of talk the young master want to have, 'Can he still make me amused by his way to do something?' I thought, half amused and half someway giddy because there will be a new 'contract' without doubt considering this situation, though at this stage I couldn't say it a contract anymore, more like an agreement that will benefit both of us.
I snapped from my musing when we arrived at a rather big door with some rather intricate carving. Death slowly but without hesitation opened the door and what met us is a rather interesting view to me. Mountain after mountain of paperwork that seems to swallow the room with its presence and a simple desk work that placed just across the room. And right in the desk chair, or more like mini throne, young master did something with a rather impressive speed, most likely sign some paperwork.
"Master, the last of your acquaintance from this world already sent away and as precaution I sealed their memories, they can recall you but there will be nothing important that can pinpoint you directly." Death said, or more like reported but with a rather easy-going attitude.
Young master turned his attention from the paperwork to us while raising an eyebrow, "How long again since we last met? I'm pretty sure it's not that long but your attitude already changed so much, what's happening Death?"
Death hummed, "It's nothing. I just feel like acting like 'human' after observing some of your interaction with your demon. 'How amusing', I think. So, when you 'trapped' in the mess of this world, I'm wandering this world for a while."
"Hmmm… That is some of the problem I want to ask you. Why didn't I remember anything 'at all' about my previous life and also my responsibilities? It's a wonder that I could remember just in the nick of time." It seems the young master already have a previous life, I wonder if he reincarnated himself because of the rather strong power in a human body or because another reason.
Death smiled a rather wicked and sly smile, "I think at this time you already have your full memories from your two previous lives, so I am sure that you can predict why you almost got yourself in a rather nasty mess in this life, though it seems Fate finally has some mercy in your destiny Master."
"Is that so? This is because of the payment I must pay from the act I do in previous life huh… I wonder what's happening with 'him'." Young master murmured his last words, I wonder what's the meaning of that.
"That's right, as for your payment for the Indian Butler, well… the payment is in front of your eyes." Death said easily, and from the widened eyes of young master I am pretty sure that he can't do anything about this. And from what I see in this room, the mountains of paperwork will take rather a long time to finish. I almost pitied young master, almost that is. "And as for 'him'," Death continued, "He is reincarnated, but it will take some times and some reincarnation for him to remember who he is, and a while before you can meet him. For now, and also for a while, you are stuck in the in-between to finish the paperwork and do your responsibilities as the Master of Death, not only for the paperwork but also to guide and to grant, as for the detail… you will know when the time comes. That is all, I think. I will leave you and your demon to do your talk and for you to do your job." And just like that Death vanished, brought with him his rather annoying pressure that I didn't like at all.
"Well… as always, he just dumped his responsibilities to me and give a cryptic advice for me to deduct what the meaning is." Young master grumbled and then sighed.
"That is pretty interesting, though I didn't really like his presence." I said and then he turned his attention to me and gave me a soft smile.
"Who in the world like the presence of Death. Death is the ending of everything after all, but most being forgot that Death also the beginning of the new opportunity." He paused and then looked at me with a rather wicked smirk, "And because of their rather annoyingly long life-span, most Demon rather avoid Death rather than visited its realm and then got reincarnated to something they didn't know."
I smiled and then walked deeper to the room, "Well… that is true. It's better to spend our time as it is rather than got reincarnated and get a limited freedom."
Young master then snorted and retorted, "And when your races got bored, they create chaos here and there, not only in demon's realm but also in human's realm, and then when there are victims of their 'game' we, the 'Death Administrator' is the one who cleaned your mess."
I could only smirk hearing his retort and with a rather huge smugness and sly I replied, "But of course, we demons are Being of Chaos after all."
Young Master mock sighed and then smiled, "But that aside, I want to talk about our situation, our new agreement, that is if you want it. I give you this because I'm pretty sure you are in the 'bored' part of your life, and I prefer it if I have a demon, High-Level Demon at that, at my disposal, as long as possible even if temporary, until you find your true way of life." He said calmly, as cryptic as his 'servant'.
I raised an eyebrow, rather confused but at the same time intrigued, "Let's hear your proposal then…" I said.
Young master smiled again and then started his proposal, "Firstly, I want you to stay as my butler, at least until the mountains of paperwork decrease and because technically I am still a human so I need the necessity of a human, considering my paperwork and any work Death will dump at my way I need an outsider to help me. Secondly, I will give you a free pass to wandering any other dimension you want, and you have a free reign to eat damned souls or the worst criminal souls. Thirdly, when the time comes, you can stop and go to wherever you need to go. That's all I think, what do you think?"
I stared at young master long, and I could say clearly that there is no hint of deception. 'As expected of someone who have the purest soul ever known', I thought. "That's pretty heavy advantage in my side Young Master. Technically, I only have to do the job like before, right?"
"That's right. But that's alright with me, I only want an addition to this rather dry manor after all. And even if this manor is in the in-between, we are now still rather closely connected to where we come from, so you have rather long time to adjusting to your job now. And if you want, I want you to become my liaison to the demon's world for a while."
I thought of what his reasoning and additional job he gave me and then nodded calmly, "Very well. And with this at least I won't be bored for a while."
Young master nodded and smiled, "Then for now, maybe you can make me some snack and a cup of tea." He said simply but also sheepishly after a rather loud growl sounded from his stomach.
I could only chuckle and went out of the study to search where the kitchen is in the Death Manor where I will stay for a while.
Years passed and without knowing it, five centuries already went from the world, the original world of Ciel Phantomhive that is. And half of that centuries, all I did was signing paperwork, if you told me that that is pretty boring and bland job then I agree wholeheartedly. And in passing, I knew the meaning of 'to grant and to guide' Death's talking about that day when practically my life in this world went crashing down. That is to help other souls who still have lingering feeling in the world. So that 'job' plus with the main job of signing the paperwork, five centuries passed without me knowing holed in the Death Manor's study.
Though sometimes I took a peek at the world, I didn't do anything to interfere the flow of destiny of that world, but I got a bit laugh when my supposed brother still did that despicable thing without knowing anything about the consequences and then took with him the 'great' Phantomhive Empire to the ground. 'Well, I felt a bit guilty because the company and the House went down in my generation, but what can I do', I thought easily without any remorse.
Well… that aside, I think I still have a very long way before I can meet with him. And considering I am in the in-between so technically I could speak to whoever I want in the Death's realm, as long as the one I want to talk still in there and not in the cycle of reincarnation, but when I searched for him I couldn't find him so I could safely conclude that he reincarnated to somewhere. Meanwhile I also looked at some other dimension where so many happening passed but I couldn't find who he possibly reincarnated as, but there is a rather amusing if not a bit sad 'scenario' occurred around the last dimension Sebastian entered. And because of my saving thing step in again without any preamble, a soul that should be lost went back to the living if only because I didn't like the ending. And considering that event, I know that sooner Sebastian will grace me with his presence and then he will find his true way of life.
"It seems you found someone worth your attention Sebastian, finally." I said calmly when I could feel his presence in my 'beloved' study, at least there is no trace of the mountains of paperwork.
"Did you know?" Sebastian asked me calmly.
I snorted and then looked at him, "There is no way I know, I'm not a prophet, I'm not Fate or worse Destiny, and without a doubt I'm not a seer. Just call it intuition, I just know that someday you will find someone who you want to protect with all of your very own being."
Sebastian smiled, "Hmm… Well, I think this is farewell huh…"
I smiled, "If you want to visit me, there is no one who will forbid you, you know. But… it is farewell for now, because I'm sure that you don't want to be separated with the one who matter the world to you when you just found him again."
"Is that so? Then, I will take my leave now. See you soon Master of Death." And with that rather simple farewell he vanished from my presence and I mused, rather amused that the one who matter the world to him is the other me from another dimension.
"Well… the rather amusing fact aside… Let's greet the next adventure, shall we?" I said to no one in particular but a void waiting to be filled.
