Disclaimer: I don't own Diagonose Murder. I always thought Steve and Amanda would make a cute couple

Amanda was not having a very good day. Steve could see that she was having a rough day and came over to her.

"Hey Amanda," he said.

"Yeah whatever," she mumbled.

Steve put a hand on her shoulder.

"Rough day," she asked.

"NON STOP," she exclaimed, "One thing after another after another today."

Steve pulled up a chair.

"Here sit down," he said.

Amanda sat down.

"Thanks Steve," she said, "You're such a good friend."

"Well I love you Amanda," Steve said, "We've been friends for as long as I can remember."

"I love you too," she said hugging him, "I'm sorry I've been so cranky lately."

"If I were in your shoes I might be cranky too," he offered.

He stroked her hair.

He looked at Amanda. Amanda looked at him. Suddenly, as if by the force of an electric magnet they met in a kiss.

"Did this just happen," Steve asked after they broke apart.

"It seems like it did," Amanda said.

"Do you think…"

"Well I don't know. I love you but we've been friends for so long I'm afraid that if it doesn't work out-"

"Amanda," Steve interrupted, "NOTHING will keep me from being your friend."

Again their lips met in a kiss. Just as they were pulling apart Mark entered the room.

"Amanda I- oh sorry I see I was interrupting something," he said.

"Dad," Steve said, "I was just-"

"I can see what you were doing," Mark said chuckling, "and don't let me stop you."

"How do you feel about this Mark," Amanda asked.

"Thrilled," Mark said, "I think you two would be great together."

"Amanda," Steve said, "Dinner?"
