Teeth so sharp they can break the skin with a single touch, eyes lost in the darkness that consumes them. But still so beautiful, with strong lithe bodies, and pale porcelain like skin. This is what has become of them since that accident. Since that dark day…
It wasn't any different from any other train ride we had, my father was more relaxed as we ran around in the car because we were ten, young adults as he said. But he should've watched more carefully. While my brother and I were looking out the window watching the countryside roll by peacefully, my adopted brother, Bray, and sister, Carling, had gone out into the jointing of the carts to watch the station come into view… unfortunately they didn't have the best of balance. Just as the station was around the corner they fell off, and onto the tracks, we were the last car so they didn't have much to run them over, but still the two children were sure to be dead. My father, Benton, noticed right away. They might not have been his children, but he loved them as if they were his own. As soon as the train came to a slow he jumped off and ran to them, my brother and I following right after. But what we found was not the gruesome mangled mess we thought we would find to be left of our beloved siblings. What we found were Bray and Carling standing on the side of the tracks waiting for us. Though it was obvious that there was some sort of horrid accident, blood and pieces of torn cloth were covering a small part of the tracks. But they were perfectly fine. Though it was obvious that they were defiantly run over, they're cloths were sipped and tattered, with blood splatters on them, yet they were perfectly fine. They had no cuts, no bruises, nothing besides they're ripped cloths to show that anything had even happened to them.
"Are… are you two alright?" he asked softly as he placed a hand on each of their shoulders kneeling down in front of them to see their faces easier. They nodded, and then smiled. A normal transaction usually, except this time, instead of the straight teeth pearly white teeth that they always had they were sharp, sharp and dangerous looking, just like a lion's.
Then a voice that seemed to ring from everywhere and nowhere at the same time sounded out "We have saved these children, as is our duty. But we had to merge with them to fully save them. We will not interfere with them if we can help it." As soon as the words were said both of them fainted.
"D-Dad?" my brother, Liam called out gently "Dad, what just happened?" he was young, as was I. neither of us knew that this mishap would shape the rest of our lives.
"They're fine; this is what happens when children go through a lot of abuse." Our father murmured, lifting both up as we started to walk towards the platform, and off to our new home.
We thought that this was the end of such wild encounters, but we were wrong. This was just the beginning. Because when the two of them woke up in the new house they didn't remeber anything after losing they're balance. Though the voices sounding, and telling us of what had happened faintly rang though they're minds. They seemed fine, the only thing different about them was their teeth, but otherwise they were the same cheerful happy go lucky children my brother and I had grown up with. And they stayed the same cheerful children they would have normally been if not for that accident. At least, up until puberty hit.
