Okay, this is a little different for me. But, as usual, the idea got stuck in my head and I couldn't concentrate on my math. So, here's just a little explanation so you won't be so confused. The first scene is when the turtles are younger, maybe about ten. The second takes place some time after the fast forward season. The guys are about seventeen. Well, I guess that's all you need to know. Oh yeah, and I don't own the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Enough said.

Michelangelo sat on the couch in their lair, staring at the fuzzy screen of their television. He had no idea what was on; his mind was on other things. Finally he turned the TV off and stood, unsure of what to do next. Leonardo looked up from a book he was reading, an expression of mild surprise on his face. "Something wrong, Mikey?" the older turtle asked.

"Oh, I don't know. I jus' couldn't concentrate," Mikey replied in his high-pitched voice.

"When have you ever been able to concentrate?" Raphael called from the room the four turtles shared.

"Lay off, Raph," Leo shouted back. "What is it, bro." By now Leonardo had laid his book aside and a look of concern had replaced his surprise. Mikey sat back down, turning his full attention to his brother.

"It's just… we'll always be brothers, right?" Mikey's question caught Leo by surprise. He had expected a lot of things from his little brother, but not this.

"Of course, Mikey. We can't stop being brothers."

"But I mean—we'll always be friends, right?" Mikey's eyes had grown wide and he was looking at his big brother with a pleading expression. Leo scooted closer to him on the couch and placed his arm around his shoulders.

"Always, Mikey. We'll always be there for each other."

"But what if something happens to one of us? What if we can't be together anymore?" Michelangelo's voice was becoming desperate now.

"Mikey, even if we're not together, we'll always be brothers. We'll always be friends. No matter how far apart we are, we can always count on each other."

"Promise, Leo?"

"I promise."

Michelangelo held the shaking frame of his oldest brother, trying desperately to stop the flow of blood from his plastron. "Hang in there, bro. Donny'll be here soon."

"Too… late, Mikey," Leo ground out through clenched teeth. Another shiver racked his body, sending one of equal force down Mikey's spine.

"No, it can't be too late. We need you," Mikey pleaded. Leo opened his eyes, which had been squeezed tight against the pain. Tears fell from Michelangelo's, mingling with the blood on his brother's face.

"No, not any more…. You can make it… without me…."

"No…!"

"Please, Mikey. You have to… to be strong. For… for the guys…." Leo was pleading now, his pain-filled eyes searching his little brother's face for something to tell him that he would be alright.

"Leo, please…. You can't leave us. You can't leave me!" Mikey's voice choked as he began to sob, clutching Leo tightly against him. "You said we would always be there for each other. What about your end of the deal, huh?"

The older turtle was struggling to breathe now as blood trickled out of his mouth. "Mikey… we'll always be brothers… always be friends… always be there for you…."

Mikey's sobs quieted as he finally looked his brother in the eyes. "Promise, Leo?"

"I promise…."

Um…. I don't really know what to say. This isn't quite what I had planned when I started out, but it's what happened. I hope it wasn't too depressing. It just kind of… came out of nowhere.
