A Poem For Kassy

Okay, this is a poem I wrote for Kassy, my beloved Canada, describing how clumsy I am when it comes to love, but also, how she manages to somehow know exactly what I'm trying to say or do.

A is for how you are awesome to me,

B is for how you're simply the best,

Constant as c is my love for you,

D was for dance, but... I'm a mess.

E is for 'Engel' , in German I know, but

For you, it's the perfect conclusion,

G is for good times, plenty to come, and

How you keep me away from confusion.

Ich liebe dich, Ja, in German again,

Je T'aime may be more familiar,

K is for King, and it rhymes with sing,

Like, when I do it, I sound even sillier.

Maybe one day I will meet you, face to face,

Nose to nose, I'm hoping soon,

Oh, but for now, Meine Schatz, I'll keep writing to you,

Past the candlelight, the glow of the moon.

Q is for the quiet nights,

Right now, I spend them alone,

Sometimes imagining that you are there,

Then waking up, in my plain old home.

U is for how you understand me

Very well, though I have a quiery;

Well, there's the fact that this next letter

X - I don't know what goes with it, really.

Y is for You, the most important person in my life, and

Z is... damn it...um... Z's the sound I make when I sleep.

For Kassy; you own my heart; be gentle with it. ;-)
