Madarame Ikkaku held his dying lover in arms while his best friend held his daughter. Kyoko had sacificed herself to save her only child but now she is begging Ikkaku to send Akatsuki to the World of the Living with her father Uruhara Kisuke.
Yumichika held five month old Akatsuki in his arms and wondered who in all of Soul Society would want to harm his beautiful goddaughter so much that Kyoko wanted her out of Soul Society. Right now it was killing his best friend to give up his daughter and losing Kyoko was even worst.
Zaraki who had found Uruhara Kyoko bleeding while holding Uruhara Akatsuki was off getting permission to allow his third and fifth seat to the World of the Living to take Akatsuki to Kisuke to live in exile.. Many had objected but it was clear that the babe was in danger as long as her assassin was still at large.
Madarame Ikkaku married Kyoko an hour before she had died. Uruhara Kisuke was granted permission to come to Soul Society for both his daughter and granddaughter. Ikkaku kissed his daughter good-bye and he left before Kisuke left with his daughter's ashes and his grandbaby. Yachiru gave Kisuke a baby rattle and Yumichika went with to help him with getting his goddaughter settled.
Yumichika returned a month later,to find Ikkaku drinking heavily and as his friend Yumichika smacked the hell out of him and told him to grow up and told him that one day he would see his princess one day or she would be very disappointed to see him like this.
Life went on and Akatsuki grew up.
