March 1st 1864; mystic falls train station

As I stared into his eyes, I could see how much he loved me; as i him.

"I love you Amelia Masen. I will come back for you and when I do, I shall marry you."

A smile broke out on my face as I look into the eyes of the man of my dreams.

"I love you too Damon Salvatore. I will be here when you come home. I promise my love."

Damon Salvatore, the man i adore. the man I have spent all my time with since we were kids. my best friend. Hes leaving to go off and fight for our country, to make his father proud.

I look down at my hands as they are being held in his own i feel myself start to cry.

"Amelia sweetheart do not cry, i will come back to you. i do not plan to die, I will fight and surive. i plan to come back to marry you. Stefan has promised me he will watch out for you and keep you

company in my absence."

Stefan Salvatore, the little brother. my best friend who has been there for me, in more ways the one. He is to protect me while Dameon is away. But why, do i feel a sort of dread coming on.

i look back up into Damon's eyes, seeing the honesty and determination. i start to cry harder as i throw myself into Dameon's arms and squeeze him to me.

"I do not want for you to leave. i am afraid I'm going to lose you. i love you so much." i mumble out while tears are falling down my face.

"As i you Amelia" Damon saids while he squeezes me to him. I love these hugs from him, its like he is holding me together. in one solid piece.

"Last boarding call!" the condcutor yells near us as the train whistle blows.

"Brother you must borad or the train will leave without you."

i look over my shoulder to see Stefan standing there with his hand out holding Damon's bag for departure. i quickly look back at Damon begging with my eyes for him to stay with me and Stefan. He smiles at me one last time and kisses me while reaching behind me for his bag. the next thing i feel is Stefan puting his arm around me, hugging me to him.

"I will take good care of Mia, brother. you have my word"

"Thank you little brother" As dameon hugs us both together and turns for the train quickly.

i lay my head on Stefan's shoulder watching as the man I love hops on to his train.

"Im going to miss him so much Stefan."

"me too Mia. me too."

as the train leaves and we wave our final goodbyes to Damon. I turn to look at Stefan seeing the worry and concern of seeing his brother again. But little did i know that would be the last time I was going to see Damon...or so i thought.
