~ "I love you," Sebastian
chocked out. Tears were running down his face.
"I love
you too," Annette said threw her sobs. With his free hand Sebastian
grabbed Annette's. "Just hold on."
"I'm
sorry," he managed to say. He knew he was dying and that the ambulance
wouldn't make it in time. But he knew that he just saved
the only person he'd ever loved
and it could be her in his place.
"Don't be
sorry," Annette said bending down to
him and kissing him. He savored the moment. "Hold on…I love
you."
Sebastian
could feel himself slipping away. "I love you." Then the pain stopped.
The crying stopped. The breathing and heart stopped.
"Sebastian?"
his eyes were open and the last tear rolled down his cheek. "No!"
She squeezed his hand and placed her head on his
shoulder. The ambulance came down
the street.~
ONE YEAR LATER
Annette woke up from the nightmare she'd been having for the last year. She wiped the sweat from her forehead. Just then a cry came out from her three month old
daughter. She walked over to the crib and picked her up.
"Shh…its okay Ariel," she cradled the baby in her arms. She named her 'Ariel' because of Sebastian's name. She knew it was silly and childish but she didn't care. Ariel stopped crying and Annette placed the now sleeping baby in the crib and crawled into bed. She missed Sebastian everyday. But she knew that it was a miracle that she had his child. It was like a part of him lived on. The only regret was that he didn't get to live to see his daughter.
Annette pushed the thoughts away because she needed to sleep. On a happy note she knew that after every nightmare of his death she had the dream of how Ariel started. She smiled and fell asleep to see Sebastian again.
