" Where're you going Mitch?" Caitlyn Gellar asked her best friend Mitchie Torres. " I'm going to the canoes with Shane." She replied pulling on her boots and jumper. Caitlyn looked up from her laptop and laughed/snorted. " Make sure he doesn't drown you." This got Mitchie's attention, " What is your problem Caitlyn, you're always making rude remarks about Shane ever since we got together!"
" Come on Mitch you know I'm only joking, don't be like that." Caitlyn was surprised that Mitchie had shouted at her. "IT'S NOT OK CAITLYN! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOU INSULTING MY BOYFRIEND. SURE HE WAS A JERK LAST YEAR BUT HE'S A JERK. JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE ALONE DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD MAKE MY LOVE LIFE MISERABLE. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT YOU!" Caitlyn looked at Mitchie in disbelief " I can't believe you would say that. You of all should know how I fell and what I've been through." She got up and left ignoring Mitchie calling after her.
Caitlyn ran to the dock and jumped into the lake. She swan to the middle and decided to float on her back. Ten minutes pasted until she heard footsteps on the dock and checked to see who it was. It was Nate, Shane Jason and Mitchie. " Caitlyn! Please come back I have to talk to you." " Why Mitchie, so you can tell me that I'm alone. I know I'm alone, my parents are dead." " Cait, it's me Nate we need you to come back to the dock…..slowly." Then all of a sudden Caitlyn saw a shadow swim underneath her.
" Guys there's something in the water!" Caitlyn tried swimming back but then the shadow started circling her. She looked up to see everyone was scared especially Nate, her other best friend and secret crush. Shane was shaking like mad" Caitlyn you have to swim back here" " No kidding Shane." " " Caitlyn got pulled under by the thing. " Caitlyn!" Nate shouted, he took off his shirt and shoes and jumped in. The others stayed on the dock waiting eagerly for them to rise up. " They have to come back up, if they don't then who else is gonna build my birdhouse."
Then all of a sudden Nate came up with a coughing Caitlyn. He swam to the dock where the boys pulled Caitlyn up. " Oh my gosh Caitlyn. I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking." " It's ok Mitch" she turned to Nate and kissed him " I'm not alone".
