John ran along the corridor to Teyla's room hoping she'd be there and not off training with Ronon
It had been almost three months since he'd seen her. Three months of dreaming of her, yearning for her touch, and wishing for a glimpse of her.
Putting his hand into his pocket for the hundredth time he felt for the flat case he knew would be there. Nervous he paused outside her door listening as the torrential downpour clashed against the city walls.
Walking into her room he saw her sitting there stretching as she always did after sparring. As usual upon entering her room he could distinctly tell the smell of cinnamon from the many candles she lit around her.
Smiling he walked over to her sat on the edge of the bed, slide out the case, flipped it open, and murmured, 'This belonged to my mother, and I wanted you to have it.'
Inside she saw the most beautiful necklace she'd ever seen. It was gold; rope designed with an emerald teardrop shaped stone hanging at the end.
Slowly she lifted it out of the case and could only stare, speechless.
'John, it is beautiful', she finally got out. Fingering the stone Teyla couldn't imagine how much he had to have traded for it.
Taking it he placed it around her neck, then pulled her off the bed, into his arms and moved them towards the mirror. Standing behind her, he loosely embraced her pulling her into his warmth. Ducking his head he gently moved aside her hair, kissed her neck and whispered, 'You make it beautiful.'
In the time it took the lightening to flash across the Atlantis sky illuminating the couple, John knew he was finally home.
