Author's Note: Wow, I can't believe I just wrote this in fifteen minutes. Anyway, just another quick fic before I quit for the week. Heehee, that sort of rhymed. Just to make it clear though, I'm not really a big fan of RyomaSakuno, as you can see in my other story, He's Just Not That Into You. The pair is just way too obvious and cliche for me, especially since I'm the kind of person who never really likes the main couple anyways. I always like the side couples that don't really get as much screen time, but I digress. Sorry you had to sit through my little rant. But as much as I don't really like this pair, this idea kind of popped into my head, and it was really one of those "what if" moments. Please review!

Men Are Idiots

Sakuno readjusted her grip on the tennis racket, using this moment to catch her breath. It was after school, and she was practicing her serve in one of the nearby street courts, trying to take her mind off of Ryoma and his utter cluelessness about relationships. Honestly, what more can she do besides throw herself into his arms and confess her undying love for him right then and there? She's already made herself look like an idiot plenty of times, but that was a different story.

Rummaging through her bag, Sakuno pulled out an empty soda can she had brought from home and laid it out on the ground on the opposite side of the court. She was about to serve when she noticed a figure enter the street courts, white cap shading his eyes. It was Echizen Ryoma.

Sakuno tightened her grip on her tennis racket and bit her lip nervously. As Ryoma was making his way closer to Sakuno, the girl decided that she had to something to get his attention. She threw the ball in the air and served the ball. It missed by about four feet.

"Your serve still needs some work, Ryuzaki-san."

"Ryoma-kun!" Sakuno said, as if she only just realized Ryoma was there. "I-I know my serve is a little off, but I just can't seem to get the form right. I don't know what I should do."

Ryoma looked at her for a moment and shrugged his shoulder.

"Oh well, good luck with that, Ryuzaki-san."

With that, Ryoma walked away, leaving Sakuno by herself. Her lips slipped into a dissatisfied pout.

"Men are idiots," she muttered, taking another ball out of her pocket and making another serve.

She hit the can perfectly.

Okay, I know this story kind of goes against canon because in the actual anime, Sakuno epically fails at tennis, but as I was watching the episode where Ryoma was teaching her to play tennis, I just kind of got the idea of Sakuno pretending to suck so she could get Ryoma to help her.
