A/N: This is the first time I've tried my hand at writing on Friends, but Mondler are such a cute couple, they inspired me quite a lot.
Thank you Leaisgaga, and very special thanks to Cynthia Salander for your help with this story.
The Only One
"There's just no one that gets me like you do
You are my only,
My only one."
- Only One by Yellowcard
Love.
Love can make you happy. Love can also rip your heart into millions of pieces. And yet, you never stop looking for love until you find it.
You might find it right away, or you might make several mistakes on the way.
Monica had made mistakes in her life.
She had loved, been loved, but had always ended up hurt. Either because the men she had dated were not looking for the same thing she was, or simply because some relationships just didn't feel right.
And yet, she never wanted to let love down. Love could be anywhere, at the corner of any street. It could be anyone.
It could have been someone that she ran into at the coffee shop, or it could have been a complete stranger who smiled at her, and thus changing her life.
But what had never occurred to her was that the love of her life could have been right next to her the whole time.
London was supposed to be just a drunken, meaningless one-night stand between them.
The 'Not in New-York' - that was the rule they had established: "What happens in London stays in London."
What if they had followed their own rule? What if they hadn't found the courage to follow their hearts?
Their lives would be so different from what it was now.
Their long-lasting friendship could have turned into an awkward relationship - the kind of relationship where both of them would have felt so ill at ease that they would have done anything to even avoid being together in the same room.
Their 'London night' could have made them grow apart.
But it didn't. It brought them closer instead, closer than they ever thought they could be.
He had just proposed to her. They were going to get married.
She had never thought the love of her life could be right next to her this whole time, and yet, there they were, lying in theirbed.
She stared at Chandler - her Chandler - who was already asleep, his breathing deep and rhythmic, his lips curved in a small, secret smile.
She stroked his hair gently and whispered - her words almost inaudible, "I love you to the moon and back, Chandler Bing"
She had been right to believe in love, to believe that it could happen to her, to believe that there was someone out there for her.
Because she had found him -her love, her soul mate. Her best friend.
He was the one who would never let her go, the one who would make her feel like she was the most precious and important person to his eyes.
The one who would love her more than anyone else ever did.
He was her one. Her only one.
A/N: So, how did you like this? Should I try and write more on these two?
Please review and give me your opinion :)
