It Didn't Hurt That Bad

It Didn't Hurt That Bad

Piper sadly looked around the attic at all of the furniture and boxes of all the stuff they had been left from their dead family. Her eyes fell on the bookstand and the book that sat closed that held all the knowledge they ever needed, except the one page that was really needed. Tears prickled in her eyes and she let the tears fall onto the letter she had just finished writing. She laid the page on the table where they had made so many potions trying to defeat the demons that tried to kill the Charmed sisters.

She let her hand wander over all the items in the room and lastly came to the Book of Shadows. Her hand stroked the cover that had changed her entire life that one stormy night on a full moon when Phoebe had been goofing around, oh so many years ago. She looked up at the room at looked at everything so lovingly. There was the dollhouse of the Holiwell Mansion where Wyatt had trapped her and Leo. There was so many memories that went with this room she was almost sorry to leave it.

She went back over to the table and gently picked up a long, shiny object and inspected it. It was sharp because she had just sharpened it. The handle was made of bone with runes etched in it in something she thought looked like dried blood. She looked around the room and decided to sit next to the Book of Shadows. It only seemed fitting. Why not end where it started? She moved a Victorian style chair next to the bookstand and sat down.

She had to admit she was scared. Who wouldn't? But no matter how scared she was she missed Leo and every second felt harder than the last. The pain was almost unbearable she just had to end it. The boys would be okay with their aunts. She hoped her sisters would follow her wishes. She looked at the letter sitting out on the table and remembered what she had written.

Dearest Sisters,

By the time you read this you'll know what I've done. I'm so sorry I had to leave you but the pain of missing Leo was just too much. I've gone to join him. I have just one wish that I would have you do for me. Please don't tell the boys about what had happened to us until they are old enough to understand.

I'll miss all of you. But just remember I'll be in a better place with Leo. I wish you all happy, wonderful lives.

Love Your Dearest Sister,

Piper W.

Piper looked sorrowfully at her letter but shock herself and took a deep breath. She held up the knife placed it on her breast above her heart, took another deep breath to try to calm her fluttering heart and plunged it deep into her heart ending her life.

Her last moments of conscience before she slipped into the thankful darkness were of her family's warm smiles smiling at her before Leo walking down a corridor of light welcomed her. The last words that echoed in her head were, "It didn't hurt that bad."
