I decided to get out of my drunken stupor and write a story (JK I was not drunk since I saw a minor I was actually in writing limbo, anyway...) SO to warm myself up (on writting ff story geez get your mid out of the lol) I decided to write a follow up story for my friend Princess1heart1hubby so here you go!
(I own rien so yeah. if I did I would be gloating about how I do which unfortunately I do not...)
The door bell rang at four in the afternoon of that monotone monday. Gideon looked up from his book and went to open the door. It had been 10 years since he first started he chess lessons. One of the children had quit, Reid had gone to collage but the girl Jakayla, his last student was still coming around every other week for chess lessons.
He opens the door and see her standing there.
"Hi there come on in." He says.
"Hi, Gideon, do we haaaave to play chess today?" The girl asked pouting.
"Well we don't have to but that is what you signed up for."
"But I'm tired. I had two test today."
"Oh what where they on?"
"Algebra and a Japanese test"
"I always hated algebra...I remember Spencer liked it though. Smart yet strange child..."
"Spencer ha he was funny...you know one of my friends had a crush on him..." She trailed off as she sat down on the couch, knowing Gideon would now be hooked, like putty in her hands. No more need for a chess lesson.
"Mmmhmmm..." Gideon said placing the chess pieces on the table slowly, pretending not to be interested.
"Oh yeah. She just was too shy to tell him, just as socially awkward as him too..."
"Oh really...Does she go to your school?"
"Yes."
"Oh..."
"What about you? Hmmm? Who was one of your highschoool crush? Huh Gideon! Huh?" She pestered.
"One of my...ugh...cough, hey were supposed to be playing chess!"
"Oh but Gideon!"
"No no come on."
"I will if you tell me."
"Why don't you tell me first?" Gideon said in an attempt to stall her.
"No. I asked you first. And I am not moving an inch until you tell me. You know I will find out eventually so you might as well tell me now!" She said smirking.
Gideon closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead in defeat. The girl could only smile.
"Her name was...Lara...Lara Volynski . She was a russian foreign exchange student. She was really nice and pretty. I had her in three of my classes and we hit it off. She was actually the one that taught me how to play chess. Never dated though...she left before I got the nerve to ask. One of my regrets in life."
"Oh."
"Who do you have a crush on?"
"What! Why are you asking me! I mean were here for chess lessons not to gossip geez!"
Gideon smiled and waved his hand over the board. Reverse psychology is great, he thought as he smirked to himself.
After they finished the game, which Gideon won again, he made them some sandwiches.
"Gideon?"
"Yes."
She looked at her hair, which was laying on her shoulder and had blue streaks.
"Why do you keep cheating?"
"What! What do you mean why do I keep cheating!"
"You always win!"
"No...not always"
"yes you do"
"Really...huh...am I that good?"
"No"
"Oh really fine I'll play you again"
"Fine! This time I am going to win" She said with a gleam in her eye.
They played in what could be described as the most intense game ever both so close and yet so far. Then...suddenly... it came to the last move and...
"Check mate!" The girl said. Gideon stared in awe and confusion...what...what had happened! He lost?
"Hahaha! I won I won I won! Woo!"
The door bell rang as The teens mother came to pick her up. Jakayla quickly hugged him and ran out to meet her mother and gloat. Gideon quietly shut the door sat down in his chair and smiled at how far his student..no...his friend, had come.
lol not what I expected it too be at all but I kinda liked it. Slow true but still cute. I hope you enjoyed princess1heart1hubby! :D
