Gensokyo, beset on all sides by the tides of war. This once serene countryside became a savage battlefield. Eight armies clashed on this one world, each refusing to back down, each convinced it was in the right.
From beneath the land of Gensokyo, came the Subterranean Khanate. Onis and Hell bestiary bent on looting and slaughter.
But another evil already had its eyes on Gensokyo. From the abyss of the Gap, the Shikigami and the sinsacks of Yukari and Yuyuko arrived, to enforce their claim.
To oppose these fearsome powers, the Mountain of Faith, forming the Moriya-Tengu-Kappa Alliance, sent their elite Tengu soldiers and sophisticated Kappa crisis battlesuits into the fray.
From the mighty Holy Scarlet Empire, came the Imperial Knights of the Red Mist. There to secure Gensokyo for the glory of the loli-vampire, Remilia Scarlet the Great.
As an undead tide, the Taoist zombie horde descended on Gensokyo, caring little for others claims and sowing Tao in its wake.
The Myouren Temple, ancient adversary of the Taoists, emerged from their Palanquin Mothership and motorcycle, to pursue their holy war on Gensokyo.
And last, came the Harukei. Finest and most uncompromising of the Excorist Miko. Seeing a world beset by the drunken youkais and crazy Gods, they undertook a great purge.
The War of Gensokyo has begun, it could only end with the total victory of one of these factions. And the total defeat of all others.
