Ram Man's Origin

To "I'm your cookies", there was an episode of He-man were He-man THOUGHT Teela was going to ask He-man out on a date and instead she asked Ram man, which is where I got the idea.

By Sharan McQuack, Launchpad's wife.

This story was a bit of a challenge to me. I'm writing a He Man story WITHOUT MENTIONING HE MAN!

How do I know where He Man was while all this was going on? Visiting his sister She Ra? Off fishing as Adam and not finding out about this until it was too late? That's GOT to happen once in a while.

I honestly don't think Teela has any feelings about He Man or Adam to confront. She respects and admires He Man, but thinks he's too much, too perfect. Adam's too spoiled. A "little brother". And she's been thinking of them as two separate individuals too long to stop now, even if she found out the Truth.

Besides, Adam is a prince. I don't think he's family would want him marring a commoner if a royal was available. Adam's father married an Earth woman, but Eternia had no other royals they knew of. Now that they know about Etheria and it's royals...

"Will he live, father?" Teela asked her foster father, Duncan.

"Yes, he will. He was very badly injured. His skull was crushed. There was extensive brain damage. I had to operate and install implants that will protect him. He can now ram thur almost anything without harm. But his memory has been erased." Duncan replied.

"He was a brave man. Taking on Skeletor and his minions for the sake of perfect strangers. Skeletor was attacking a small, peaceful village, intending on enslaving it's peaceful, harmless people. This unknown man, a passing stranger, risked his life to rally them against Skeletor . They regained their freedom, but he was badly hurt. Doesn't ANYBODY know who he is? Where he came from?" Teela asked.

"I'm afraid not. He's...what did the Queen call it?" Duncan asked.

"A "traveling salesman". An Earth term for a merchant who travels to distance villages and towns, far away from shops and stores." Teela said.

'Yes. Our unknown friend was a merchant, peddling various goods. Skeletor attacked the village this merchant was visiting, simply because the town is close to Castle Grayskull. Skeletor intended to use the town as a base to lay siege and attack Castle Greyskull. This man fought back and got the villagers to do likewise. But he was badly hurt and his memory is probably gone forever. Nobody knows his name or where he came from." Duncan said.

Then the stranger awoke.

"Where am I? WHO am I?" he asked.

"You don't remember your name? Where you came from? If you have friends and family, worried about you?" Teela asked.

"I was fighting Skeletor . Skeletor saw he was losing, was going to lose...he started an avalanche! I got the others away in time...then everything went black." the stranger said.

"Your skull was crushed. There was extensive brain damage. I did what I could.. You suffered a servere concussion. Your memory may never return. I operated, saved your life. You are now a living battering ram. You can now ram thur almost anything " Duncan said.

"Then call me Ram Man. Until I remember my real name. If ever." Ram Man replied.

So they called him Ram Man or Rammy for short. The Royal family and Man at Arms asked everybody if they knew who he was or where he came from. Nobody knew. Ram Man's memory never came back.

Teela found herself liking the guy. He was funny. Rammy wasn't very bright, but that was probably at least partly due to the brain damage. And he WASN'T a perfect plastic person who NEVER does anything wrong, who NEVER makes mistakes and does not seem to need her or anybody else, like SOMEBODY she could name. Nor was he a spoiled, pampered lazy cowardly hedonist who took the fact he was Prince totally and completely for granted like somebody ELSE she could name.

And he liked her. Time would tell if it would go further than that.

The End.
