Hiya! This is my first InuYasha story, so don't blame me if you think it's bad. Well...there's actually no one else to blame so I guess you have to blame me. Oh, whatever.
This story is about Kirara, one of my most favorite characters.
"Mommy, when will Kirara's eyes open?"
Kirara's ears slightly twitched as she heard the little girl's voice.
"Mommy!" the little girl squealed. "Did you see that? She twitched her ears! I bet she'll open her eyes soon!"
"Yes, Midoriko," sighed the little girl's mother. "I could see."
"Come on, Kirara!" cried Midoriko. "I want to see your eyes open. Are they blue like your mommy's? Or sharp gray like your brothers?"
Kirara laughed in her mind. She knew Midoriko really wanted to see her eyes, so she decided it was finally time to blink open her eyes.
"Mommy! She opened them! Kirara opened her eyes! They're red! They're red! Daddy! See? Can't you see how cute she looks with her eyes open?"
Kirara purred, rubbing her face against Midoriko's legs. "Do I really look that cute?" Kirara squeaked.
"Mommy! Daddy! Kirara purred! She squeaked! I don't know what she said, but it sounds so much better than her brothers' talking noises!"
Kirara purred again. She guessed she would have fun. She thought Midoriko was an excitable little girl.
"Kirara..." Kirara jumped as her mother's soft voice wafted into her ears.
"Mother!" squeaked Kirara, surprised.
Kirara's mother, Sora licked her daughter's ears. Leaning down to whisper to Kirara, she said," Be careful of your brothers. They may be hard on you."
Kirara stared at Sora, puzzled. Why would her own brothers be mean to her?
"Go and play," whispered Sora. "Just be careful."
"Okay! Kirara scampered off towards Midoriko and her brothers.
Her two brothers were named Hagashii and Korosu. Hagashii's markings were dark red, and Korosu's markings were bright red.
"Hagashii! Korosu! I opened my eyes!" Kirara squealed happily and tumbled near her older brothers.
Hagashii and Korosu looked down at their little sister. Their eyes were hard and cold. They were sharp like a thorn.
Kirara's older brothers stared icily at Kirara. Kirara felt uncomfortable, but Hagashii and Korosu were her elder brothers, so she was positive that they wouldn't harm a single hair on her pelt.
Korosu and Hagashii slowly padded away from Kirara.
"Wait! I want to play! Korosu! Hagashii!" Kirara cried. "Come play with me!"
Midoriko stroked Kirara's silky fur. "Come on, let's get your mother and we can play together!"
"Mommy!" squeaked Kirara. "Come play!"
Sora purred and padded over to her daughter. Both cat-demons looked up at Midoriko, who smiled at the newborn cat-demon.
Kirara pawed at Midoriko's legs. Midoriko bent down and gently stroked Kirara's head, who purred in contentment.
She jumped on Midoriko's head and curled up, purring.
"Careful, Kirara!" cried Sora. "You might fall down!"
"I'll be fine!" squealed Kirara.
Midoriko lifted Kirara off her head. "Aw...You're so cute!" she cooed, pressing Kirara to her chest.
Kirara was so happy! But a question was swirling around her mind.
Why did her own brothers, Hagashii and Korosu, walk away from her? Surely they were happy she was born.
Even though she was a newborn, Kirara was going to find out the reason. Her older brothers had seemed...angry.
Kirara put all that aside a began playing with Midoriko and Sora.
But she needed to find out why her own brothers seemed to dislike her.
