Just jumping on the kiddy!klaine bandwagon.

I do not own Glee. Obviously.

"We don't have to, if you don't want to," Blaine mumbled. He suddenly became very interested in his shoes, mentally tying and retying his shoelaces.

It had been a silly idea anyway, he scolded himself. Just because Kurt had been his best friend since they were five – three whole years – didn't mean Kurt would want to kiss him. That was something a boy and a girl did.

Blaine had gotten the idea when they were having a Secret Club Meeting in Kurt's tree house. They were talking about The Little Mermaid when Kurt said, "I think Prince Eric is prettier than Ariel." He said it all in a rush, as if he'd been trying to get it out for ages. Then he blushed and stared down at his hands.

"My mommy says I look like Prince Eric."

"Yeah. Yeah, you do."

Blaine was silent. Did that mean that Kurt thought he was pretty? Because Blaine thought Kurt was beautiful. He had really soft hair and he smelled nice and –

"Come down for dinner, boys!" Kurt's daddy called, and Blaine tried to push it to the back of his mind. He failed.

That was a week ago.

"I do want to," Kurt said quietly and clearly, his blue eyes boring into Blaine's, searching for something. Kurt had been terrified ever since he told Blaine his secret. He had never told that to anyone, not even his daddy. He had almost told his mommy once, and he thought she understood. But she was gone now, and it hurt to think about her too much.

Forgetting was easier with Blaine around. Yet at the same time, it was easier to talk about her when Blaine was around too. About her cuddles and her cookies and the way her perfume smelled. If he told his daddy, they'd both get upset, but Blaine just made everything seem... okay.

Kurt froze in panic. What if Blaine was making fun of him? What if those mean boys were going to jump out and call him all those horrible names? They'd go around school telling everyone that Kurt Hummel was a girl.

Then he felt Blaine's hand on his cheek, and saw Blaine's eyes bright with excitement.

"I think you're really pretty, Kurt," he whispered. Before Kurt could respond, Blaine brushed his lips softly against his. It made him feel tingly and warm inside. When they broke apart, both of them were grinning.

"I think you're pretty too, Blaine. I like how bouncy your hair is and how you always make me smile and that you taste like strawberries." Kurt blushed as he said the last part.

"Kurt... do you want to be my boyfriend?" Blaine took Kurt's small, soft hands in his as he spoke, rubbing them with the pad of his thumb, calloused from guitar lessons.

"Are two boys allowed to be boyfriends?" Kurt near-whispered, not looking Blaine in the eye.

"I think so," Blaine said, faltering for a moment. He tightened his clasp on Kurt's hands. Every morning Blaine woke up looking forward to seeing Kurt. He was smart and funny and kind, and he had a special smile just for Blaine. Blaine loved that smile. Whenever he felt scared, he would think of it and he wouldn't feel so scared anymore.

"I want you to be my boyfriend, Kurt."

Kurt responded with another kiss.
