He'd been banished. Left for dead on the one planet he had sworn to destroy. He knew Thor wouldn't kill him, no. His brother loved him much more than that. And after all he'd done, Loki couldn't wrap his dark mind around such logic. To him it seemed so twisted, so lost, and so pointless. Because if there was one absolute thing about him, it was that he would always be a lost cause.
Looking around the busy street the former God was taken aback by the amount of humans rustling about. He'd been stripped of his powers, brought back to earth to live a human existence. His father and brother had given him comfortable means. A nice apartment in Brooklyn, a steady and generous allowance for him to live by and learn his lesson. He was to be like these people, and live with these people. To learn the importance of their existence.
Ha, I highly doubt that. He still felt superior to them, he was superior to them. But now, as he looked around, he knew in an instant he could be gone. Immortal blood no longer flowing through his veins, his life was left to fate. The simple thought of how little control he had in his life made Loki furious. So furious he didn't notice the taxi driving right towards him. The strong force he felt as someone pounded their body straight into his was almost as bad as being pounded by the Hulk, what topped it was landing on the unforgiving concrete. The resonating 'thunk' of a small body landing right on top of him made his head spin, it wasn't until he found himself gasping for air that he realized he'd stopped breathing.
"You really should use cross walks" he could feel her body shifting as she toppled over him, her face suddenly right in front of him.
Her small frame surprised him, and as he lifted himself up her realized they had an audience. "I wasn't thinking, I don't know what happened." His answer seemed to satisfy most of the crowd and just as quickly as they had gathered, everyone turned back to their own lives.
Turning to his right, his head still throbbing, her chocolate eyes seemed to call him a liar.
