It was the dead of winter, snow blanketed over the forest as small snowflakes continued to fall from the sky.
I smiled softly as I tried to capture some in my palm, feeling it the wet substance as it melt instantly when it touched my skin. Lowering my arm back down, I continued wandering through the forest.
For as long as I can remember, I have done nothing but traveled from place to place, never staying long in one location. What was the point if no one could see me?
I felt a jab of pain enter my heart at the recall of a group of people walking through me when I had first awakened.
I sighed as I looked up at the gray sky, glaring at nothing in particular before turning my gaze back to the trail I was walking through.
I jerked my head back when a felt a jolt of pain hit my leg causing me to jerk it away. I looked down and saw a frozen pond. Knitting my eyebrows together, I crouched down and gently placed my hand on top of it only to yank it back instantly when I felt it instantly going stiff just from the sudden contact. I flicked my wrist, trying to get feeling back into my now numb hand as I heated it up a bit.
My head perked up when I heard the sound of soft of the snow crunching and caught sight small figure walking towards the pond. A kid? I thought to myself as I stood up and began making my way towards her.
When I made it to the other side I saw the kid, a little girl, sitting on her knees in from of a pair of worn out skates. She reached for something in her furred jacket and pulled out a dozen of blue flowers, latched onto each other in a circle motion, and placed them on top of the skates.
The girl whispered something I could not hear as tears began to form the corner of her eyes. I reached out towards her but stopped myself, knowing my hand would just faze right through her. But I can't just leave her alone either.
Glancing back down at the girl I sucked in a deep breath before speaking for the first time since my existence. "Hey, are you okay?"
And just like that, two bright brown orbs locked onto my figure making me freeze in place.
We just stared at each other, feeling the cool breeze brush past us, neither of us move in fear that we did the other might disappear.
Finally the girl seemed to break herself out of daze as she blinked and asked, hesitantly, "W-who are you?"
A gentle smile graced my lips before I parted them and spoke, "My name is Hiccup." And much to my surprise and joy the girl grinned.
Neither of us noticed the moon in the sky showing itself after the clouds parted ways or the figure flying over the forest.
So, what do you all think? Like? Dislike? Love? Hate? R&R and let me know.
Thank you for reading and have a ice day. (bad pun :P)
