"I will love you tomorrow" he said
"Just be patient" she says to me, "tomorrow will come."
I sit waiting,
Waiting for tomorrow,
Waiting for the sun to break through the clouds,
For time to stop altogether,
For summer to become winter,
Just Waiting,
Waiting on tomorrow.
I try to stand but he pushes me down.
Laying his head on my heart.
He drags me back,
Back to yesterday,
He says that was when,
When it was you and I,
I ask well then what is this?
He laughs and says just wait, wait for tomorrow?
His every step forward, means my every step back.
Back through the door of yesterday,
I lunge for tomorrow,
Because that is all I know how,
Fluctuating from the past to the present.
My soul has been lost from living,
Killed by memories,
Restored by hopes,
But never living.
An on going motion,
Learning To breathe,
Circles and circles,
Repetition.
The faster my heart pounds,
The harder it is to move on,
He takes my hand and says "be patient,"
I'm here it's yesterday,
I squirm out of his grasp,
Pry myself from the heart you think you gave me
But the one I can't return.
Run away from yesterday,
But stop before it becomes tomorrow,
Yesterday shaped me,
Tomorrow will resurrect me,
But today gives me the chance to live.
To live in my moment.
This is my time.
