Smoke and dust rose to mingle in an impenetrable cloud. All that could be heard was the clang of sword against sword and occasionally the cry of a special attack. Everyone stood on edge, waiting for the outcome. Who would come out alive? Finally, Yuya, unable to bear the tension anymore, ran into the cloud and disappeared. A warning could be heard, then a female cry of pain and anguish. Less than a second later, a male voice resounded clearly.
"YUYA!!!"
"Who was that?"
"I don't know…"
The companions looked at each other, surprised and anguished.
Suddenly, the powerful aura of one of the two deadly samurais began to grow exponentially, engulfing everything with it. It seemed it would never stop growing. The ground started to shake and a strange wind began to blow. As suddenly as it had begun to grow, the aura decreased until it was normal once again. Though, the group noticed, the other powerful aura had completely disappeared. A dark silhouette approached in the fog, but they couldn't distinguish who it was. The wind blew dust around its feet with a swish. They could hear clothes flapping.
With a rustle of clothes, the samurai stopped before them silently and the fog dispersed, letting them see a bloodstained blond girl in his arms. She had been hit with an attack and was in a pretty bad shape, but she was still breathing and was so strong-willed that she would live. Everyone sighed in relief.
"So you came back, eh, Kyo?" said Hotaru.
"Don't tell me you even had a doubt in your mind. Of course I did. I couldn't very well let this amusing girl wander the lands alone. She's so feeble she wouldn't last a week," answered the demon finally back in his own body with a smirk.
He had cuts all over his body, but it seemed that in the end, he was the one who had won. They shuddered at the thought of Kyoshiro's state. Kyo let out a laugh, showing canines, and stepped past them. He turned toward them and said with an eyebrow raised: "Well? You guys coming?"
Without hesitating, they all followed him, the demon whom they all wanted to fight, the demon who could bring them higher than anyone, the demon they could follow to the end of the world without a second thought. The demon who cared for a high-spirited girl who needed him and loved him more than anything else. As the sun set, they all walked in its direction, no one knowing what tomorrow had in store for them, only that with Onime no Kyo, it would certainly be eventful.
Okay…So that didn't turn out exactly as I had it in mind, but still…Bear with me, I wrote this in 30 min! Feel free to R&R and because I know it's not that great, I'll even accept flames! So you see, you have no reasons to resist the itch you have to go press on that little button below: )
