The Start of It All!
Max awoke to the sound of an alarm. Today is the day, he thought as he opened his eyes. He stood up and opened his window to Pomegranate Town, a city somewhere in Johto. He is filled with excitement as dresses up for the big day. "I'm leaving Mom! Cork's waiting!" Max said as he came down the stairway. "Okay. Good luck on your journey, honey. Come visit soon!" his mother responded.
Max ran as fast as he could. But, he stopped due to his rival, John standing in the way. "Today's the day, dweeb! Get ready to fail!" he said, cockily. Max frowned and yelled, "Well, I'm at least going to try to get to the Pokémon League, and you'll be sorry for saying this once I beat you!" John smiled and smirked. "I'm going to choose first, so you won't get the best one."
Max and John raced toward the lab. They entered, yelling at each other about who getting there first. "I got here first!" "No, I did, you little-…" "Hey!" a voice yelled. It was Prof. Cork! "Professor!" the two rivals said in unison. "You two need to stop fighting, this isn't what good trainers would be like!" They both yet again said, "Yes, Professor."
Cork continued, "Today, you two will pick one of these three Pokémon to be your partner throughout your journey. The type you choose will affect battles. Now the Pokémon choices are…" Max became filled with excitement and anxiety.
"Charmander, Treeko, and Totodile!" Max lit up. The three choices were astounding to Max. Max wanted the fire type, but before he could say anything, John yelled, "I choose Treeko!" Max then said, "I choose Charmander!" Cork continued on, "Okay then! Treat them with care! Now, off with your journey! Good luck!"
John followed Max. "How 'bout a battle?" he asked. "Save it John, wait until they are strong. Okay?" Max exclaimed. John muttered, "Scared little kid." Max walked away for Johto, while John took a short route to Olivine City to sail to Kanto.
Max took out Charmander. "Char!" it joyfully said. "Hey little guy, you're my partner now. We're going to be best friends!" Max explained, smiling. Then the new trainer and his Pokémon head into the new and great unknown.
Life as he knew it was changing. He starting to walk toward Cherrygrove City, beginning to plan on going to Violet City to win his first gym badge. Then, he ran into a creature called a Rattata! He battle the first one. Then Charmander started to learn things he hadn't before. And before he knew it, Max had taught Charmander the move ember. He kept battling wild Pokemon. Charmander kept going and going! Then Max heard a scream. He ran toward the scene, seeing what it was. A Pichu had been in trouble. Max knew what it was just by his year-long pre-training research about the first two regional Pokemon entries.
The Pichu was running from a Dodrio, a three headed bird. It was screaming too. Max told Charmander to jump in front of it and use Ember. It did so, firing hard. Max told the Pichu, "From now on, be more careful." He started to walk off, and the Pichu followed, like it wanted to be caught. Max finally realized it, and happily caught it. It came out of the ball and sat on his shoulder. It started to get late, so Max rushed to Cherrygrove City to sleep.
AN: Hey Guys! Welcome to my Pokémon fanfic. I deleted my Gravity Falls and DBZ stories, because I wasn't giving enough interest. But this time, I've written story parts for a month and a half! This series is planned to go far, so please enjoy! Also, you'll eventually see why he's in Johto now, and why it's called Kanto League. (it wasn't a mistake.)
