-The Perfect Fit-
Detective Inspector Robbie Lewis could not contain the smile that fell across his face. For the first time in a long time it was not smug smirk, but a smile that allowed everyone who laid eyes on him to know that he was happy. Eyes sparkled, and he had a spring in his step. His arm was around Laura, and she was walking in sync with him. HE head was against his shoulder, and just like him she had a smile on her face. Her hair looked lighter out in the sun, her eyes were bright and in his eyes she looked amazing. Their smiles were all they needed, but their laughter just added to the moment, both still highly amused by the scene in the pub.
When she'd gone to kiss him, she hadn't for a moment thought that James would be there, or more importantly Innocent. But they had been. However, kissing his had been her priority, after so many years of dancing around one another they were finally together. Now that he was hers, she didn't want to waist a moment. So, as they passed on of the old buildings she slowed down and looked up at him, stopping them. "What?" He asked her with an amused smile on his face. And so, the smiled never leaving her face she leant up and kissed him. A long and passionate kiss; just like the one that they had shared back in the pub only an hour or so ago. When the parted, their chests heaving as they both attempted to regain their breath once more, Laura and Robbie smiled impossibly more. "What was that for?" He questioned.
"Do I need a reason?" She asked, not really knowing why exactly she had kissed him, only that she had wanted to stake her claim for everyone to see.
"Nah, you don't." He replied, before pulling her into him. Then, slowly they began to walk, and as they did so the whole world felt like a much brighter place. These two, so in sync walked at a matching pace. Smiling and sharing jokes, and comments. Neither Laura nor Robbie needed to say much, because after so many years of working together, both were more than a little aware of the inner workings of the others mind. And so it was that which somehow caused two pieces of the puzzle to join back together in perfect harmony – because they were simply nothing less than a perfect fit.
