The aftermath of the storm wasn't good.
Max stared out of the car window, watching the trees as they quickly passed by. Chloe was obviously speeding, but she was hurting too much to care.
"Max, please talk to me." Chloe whispered, glancing at Max before focusing her attention on the road again.
When she didn't reply, Chloe spoke again, "You're a hero, Max. Even if you couldn't save Arcadia Bay, you saved me." Max looked over at Chloe with tears in her eyes. When tears started streaming down her face, Chloe pulled the car over to the side of the road and shut off the engine.
"Chloe, what are you-"
Max was cut off when Chloe leaned over and kissed her.
The kiss only lasted a few seconds before Chloe pulled back and hugged Max tightly.
"I may not have superpowers, but I'll always be here for you." Max buried her face into Chloe's shoulder, "I love you, super Max."
"I love you too, Chloe."
