LOSING CONTROL
AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER
This is a side story to The DiNozzo Files taking place during Bete Noire and has tweaked things to fit the reality I created in that instead of just Ari, there were two people smuggled into autopsy and will be important later on in the series. Belongs to Donald P. Bellisario.
Ari's eyes clouded as he watched the doctor and agent trying to administer first aid to their fallen companion.
"We need to stop this," he told his companion in Arabic. "This is solving nothing!" he insisted. I need to keep them from being killed, he thought to himself. But on the other hand, he couldn't break his cover. How would Abba handle this? he wondered. Oh wait. Bad idea. Abba was a good man, but a bit too mission-oriented in that he'd keep the cover and let people die. Okay, so not doing that.
"Silence! We have our orders! We will carry them out!"
"We should at least let the injured man go. To show good faith so that we can leave here without further bloodshed and lull them into a false sense of security."
"No! We will do this my way!" At this, Ari sighed as his eyes clouded. He had tried. He couldn't risk speaking up again without Akeem getting suspicious. Damn it, he thought to himself. He needed to think. He had to convince Hamas that he was on their side, no matter how distasteful it was. He just hoped that he could manage to do this…
