He just stood there. With a blank expression. You would have too if the one girl you thought was perfect, was in fact gay. Carly Shay has finally come out of the closet and the only person she has told was Freddie. Who was at the same time dating no other than the very own Sam Puckett.
"Freddie? Freddie, are you there?" Carly tried to get his attention by waiving her hand in front of his face. Freddie shook his head as a signal of coming back to normality.
"Yeah, I heard you Carls." he reassured his best friend.
"When will you tell Sam?" Freddie asked.
"When I am ready. I told Spencer and he flipped out. Imagine what would happen if I told Sam. I was the one who set you two up and then I tell her that I'm gay?" Carly informed.
"She will understand. You can't just show up for rehearsal one day with a girlfriend and say 'Hey guess what, I'm gay!'." Freddie reasoned.
Little did Freddie and Carly know that Sam walked in the iCarly studio in the middle of Freddie's sentence.
"What!" Sam screamed.
"C-Carly, y-your g-gay?" Sam voice was a mixture of weakness, pain, and the resistance of tears which against Sam's consent, tickled down her pail cheek. Her face was entirely flushed and utterly blank from the scene she had just witnessed.
"Yes Sam. I am." Carly's head hanged down in shame. Not wanting to ever make eye contact with her stunned best friend.
Sam ran all that she heard through her head and concluded that if it made Carly happy then she was happy. Sam's head was down and when she lifted her head, Carly and Freddie expected to see Sam with an angry expression but instead she had look that Carly not even Freddie had seen. She had a look of content and peace and a simple smile was etched across her face.
"Are you okay, Sam?" asked her boyfriend.
"Sure, why wouldn't I be?" it was very alarming to Freddie when Sam show a kind and nonchalant attitude in a situation such as this.
"So you're not mad?" Carly inquired.
Sam let out a heavy sigh in not as much as it was annoyance as it was a sigh which meant she was tired of this conversation. "Carly, if you're happy then I am happy. But there is one thing I want to know."
"What?"
"That no matter what happens, I will always just be your best friend. Nothing more." Sam made sure the boundaries were clear. Carly and Sam hugged and it made Carly feel that she wasn't in this alone.
Freddie who stood back in the sidelines this entire time, finally spoke up.
"Don't I get a hug?" Freddie asked his girlfriend. Sam let go of Carly and went over to Freddie, kissed him, and gave him a hug.
"You do realize, that tomorrow I will not be all lovey dovey with you. And if you hug me like this again, you will not be able to use your arms, sweetheart.
A/N I think it was pretty good considering I have a stomach bug. I just got this idea from taking some of my medicine and I grabbed my laptop and began writing in bed. I hope you have enjoyed. I aim to please!
