Walter C. Dornez bent over his work desk in his room at Hellsing. He was going to have to leave soon. It seemed fair to write Integra a letter. Hopefully, she'd find it after Alucard was finished. He banged his hand on the desk in frustration. What if she didn't make it? Walter quickly picked up a pen and pressed it to a piece of paper. He began:
'Sir Integra,
If your reading this hopefully I'm already gone, for my sake. I want you to know I didn't leave because of you or Seras. I left for me. I'm telling you this now because I don't think I could say it in person. I'm going to have to be emotionless to get my job done. I left Hellsing for me. I will be remembered as more than just Hellsing's butler. I need to be the legend I once was- but forever. I love you like a niece Integra, but I cannot keep my promise to your father to protect you. This won't be easy for me and I hope you know that. Defeating Alucard will grant me-'
The shinigami dropped the pen as a knock sounded on the door. It had startled him but he calmly folded the paper and left it on the desk, getting up and opening the door. It was Seras.
"Hello Walter!" She waved. "Sir Integra looks upset today. The Valentine massacare really effected her, even if she wont say it out loud." She frowned.
Walter smiled at Seras. "Perhaps I will console her, though she won't make it an easy job."
"Thanks Walter." Seras said cheerfully and turned to go, leaving Walter alone again.
He went back to his desk and took the folded paper. No letter could justify what he was about to do to his girls. Walter took out his lighter and burned the paper, beggining to delvelop a hollow exspression he would need to retain in the future.
