"Oh poor dear do you think she knows?" A hushed female voice said.
"Well he is still alive so I would guess not," Another female voice answered the first.
"How sad is it not knowing the man you love is cheating with someone roughly half your age," the first voice said.
"Oh she's looking this way lets change the topic," The second voice said.
Lin could feel her eyebrows twitching as she heard the voices just reaching her ears. Snapping her head to the right she saw the two older woman flinch. They were probably the same age as her mother yet they appeared to be acting like some of the young cadets in the academy.
Part of her wanted to confront the two about what they had been saying. Asking what proof they had about those horrid rumors they were do keen to spread. Though another part wanted to ignore it. She herself had heard all about Tenzin and Pema supposedly dating. She couldn't imagine the man she loved and been with for about as long as the other had been alive to cheat on her. They just had to be lies.
Rolling her shoulders she felt the weight of her uniform more than normal as she walked. It was like she had another officer on her holding a weight. Running a hand threw her loose hair she continued onto her destination. Idling noting she was in need of a trim again. Noting the time she started to rush. She was supposed to be meeting Tenzin in his office for lunch.
Reaching her destination Lin's eyes widen hearing the voices inside. They sounded like the two she had the unfortunate luck to hear about on the way over. The two sounded to friendly for her taste as well. Against her better judgment she opened the bottom of her shoe and stepped down.
Lin quickly picked it up afterwards. As if what she haw 'seen' caused her pain. There inside the room Tenzin was at his desk with her in his lap. Arms wrapped around his neck about to kiss him. Her body shook with mix emotions. Hurt, betrayal, and anger being the most prominent. Before she could stop herself she kicked the door open marching inside.
"What is the meaning of this I as…Lin oh my," Tenzin said his face draining of color, "I…it's not what it looks like." His voice coming out in a stutter as he tried to think of a way to smooth this over.
"What's going on Tenzin you said the two of you had broken up weeks ago when we started dating," Pema said, "Why is she barging in like this?"
Tenzin started to shake with slight fear while Lin was over came with anger. Stomping her foot down Tenzin's desk flew across the room.
"For your information we had not but now we are," Lin hissed out, "I thought they were just rumors I ignored them but you Tenzin do not expect me to be civil next time we meet."
Turning on her heel Stormed out. For good measure once down the hall she cause the chair the pair was in to fall backwards. The sound of them hitting the floor doing little to help with her broken heart. Keeping the tears away until she was in her mother's arms minutes a few minutes later.
