She strutted about with her group of friends, she was popular, and pretty she had everything. She just wished that annoying prat James Potter would leave her alone.

"Lily!"

She rolled her eyes and kept walking, stopping to drag away Sarah Bell from drooling over James; she didn't get it, why were her friends all so infatuated with him.

He wasn't even that good looking!

Well, the more she thought about, he actually was rather attractive, but she certainly did not fancy him!

Imagine that, even prude little Lily Evans wouldn't stoop to that level.

"LILY!"

She stopped abruptly, startling her friends. She flicked her hair dramatically around as she turned, her eyes full of anger and rage, they were terrifying, Sirius even felt for James to have to be under that cold glare.

Obviously she was making him nervous, his palms were sweaty, he was blushing and scuffling his feet.

"What is it James?"

He started jabbering on about Quidditch and other meaningless boring stuff, he found intriguing.

"Are you going to tell me, or are you going to stand there like a git not telling me what you want!"

"Er- your hair, it looks like its on fire you know."

She rolled her eyes, trying to blink back tears, she got enough smart remarks about her hair colour from the arrogant, and brave first years, willing to tell her that he hair was the same colour as fire, or as a carrot.

James was as immature as a first year.

She could hear him chasing desperately after her, frantically trying to catch up. She knew it was only a matter of time before he caught up to her, I mean he is Quidditch captain after all.

She heard his steps getting closer, but somehow she found herself purposely slowing down, why was she doing this!

"Lily," he was panting heavily now, trying to regain his dignity he stood up, and winked at a couple of first years, who ran off screaming and giggling to their friends.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, saying that your hair was on fire I mea-"

He got cut off mid speech by her lips, desperately finding his, like all that mattered now was him and her together, ignoring the whispers and gasps from the people around them.

All that mattered now was him.
