Detective Jennifer Angell was sitting alone at the bar nursing a beer she hardly ever drank, but since the guy she liked was currently dating some one else she found the one would do her some good. She was contemplating on going home when a familiar voice filled her head.
"Mind if I join you?" Looking up Jenn' gaze fell upon Adam Ross, the one that she liked in the first place, nodding a yes she looked to wards the stage where they were setting up for the monday night karaoke.
" Hey adam, I'll be right back, ok?"
"Yeah. ok," He watched as she made her way over to the stage and began flipping through the list of songs that one could choose to sing from, she quickly chose one before getting up on the stage. The soft music filled the bar as she waited for her cue to start singing.
" I am moving through the crowd
Trying to find myself
Feel like a guitar that's never played
Will someone strum away?" She was a little shaky at first but when she looked to the crowd, more specifically Adam's face she gained some confidence. He smiled softly when their eyes met.
"And I ask myself
Who do I wanna be?
Do I wanna throw away the key?
and invent a whole new me
and I tell myself

Don't wanna be

But me.." With each word that she sang and each time she looked at Adam's face, she gained more confidence.
"You are moving through the crowd

Feelin' like a doll left on a shelf

Do I wanna throw away the key?
and invent a whole new me

But me.." Her voice slowly became louder as the feeling of peace she got every time she sang came over her.
"Your life plays out on the shadows of the wall
You turn the light on to erase it all
You wonder what it's like to not feel worthless
So open all the blinds and all the curtains

We are moving through the crowd..." The crowd clapped loudly as she gave the microphone back to the guy who had been setting up. She walked back to where Adam was sitting and sat down.
" Wow! That was... awesome," she blushed lightly at the complement "where did you learn to sing like that?"
"when your the youngest of five, you tend to pick up on some things." she smiled again.
"So how are things with you and Kendall?" She asked after taking another drink of beer.
"I broke it off today." Jenn was shocked
"What? Why? That is if you don't mind my asking"
"I don't mind. She was a little to out there for me not like... um so the weather" He flushed red and changed the subject before he even finished his sentence.
"Not like who? Adam" He mumbled something, that Jenn didn't catch.
"Pardon?" She pressed further
"Not like...."
