I do not own Inuyasha, or its characters.

Missing You:

Summary: Inuyasha berates himself for not noticing how tired Kagome is after a long journey, and decides to do what he can to make it up to her.

The long day's journey was finally at an end, but for Inuyasha, the night looked to be just a long. The battle they'd fought earlier that day had taken its toll; Kagome was tired and hurting, and he swore at himself for not noticing sooner.

He'd gone on ahead of the group to find them a comfortable place where they could bathe and relax for a few days. It wasn't until his return that he'd sensed Kagome's pain. It rolled off of her in staggering waves, though she didn't complain.

He watched her limp past the fire pit toward the hot spring. Miroku and Kirara were already fast asleep; an hour later, Shippo and Sango returned, both barely awake on their feet. Inuyasha waited for them to bed down before making his way out of camp.

When he found Kagome, he smiled, his blood heating at the vision she made. Her head was tipped back, her skin glowing softly in the moonlight. Water beaded and rolled off her shoulders, trailing over the top of her breasts before disappearing from sight.

They'd kept their mating secret, for everyone's safety. It was information too easily used against them. Stripping quietly, Inuyasha made his way into the spring.

Kagome turned her head, her eyes taking in his nakedness, appreciation shining in their depths. "If I wasn't so tired, Inuyasha-"

Pulling her onto his lap, Inuyasha smiled, and reached to rub her foot. "If you weren't hurting, Kagome, I'd take you up on that."

He groaned when she wiggled to get comfortable. They were tired, but she was a temptation he couldn't resist.

Don't start something you can't finish, Kagome, " Inuyasha breathed.

"I never do."

"You're tired."

"I am," she agreed before claiming his lips in a gentle kiss, "but I miss you."

This drabble was written for lj's prompt 'A Long Day's Journey' and came in at 300 words exactly. I am sorry for the delay in updates for Deserted. I'm in a tough place with it, lol. Complicating things further, my health reared its ugly head -again- and I have been down for awile. To be honest, I'm still fighting with it.

I also want to thank everyone who has reviewed my stories recently. I haven't replied, and I'm sorry about that. Your kindness made me smile, and reminded me that you're still there. I haven't felt good for awile, and these brightened my day once I was able to get back online.

I've read them, loved them, and I want to thank each of you for them. You have no idea what they mean to me, lol!

*hugs*
