Disclaimer: I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean, despite all my attempts to find a way to be able to. This is just a work of my imagination running away from me.

Summary: Cotton has become a master in the knowledge of that whish he cannot do.
Speech
No one appreciated the art of speech more than Cotton. And he did recognize it as an art. Once he lost his tongue, the only thing he had left to do was listen. After a while, it became so easy to notice what things can be accomplished by just speaking. He'd seen his captain talk his way out of what had to be thousands of troubling situations . . . and talk his way into just as many. He'd heard Anamaria put fear into normally fearless men, with just verbal threats alone. Even his beloved parrot could get his opinions across with only a few squawked words. He had made it a point over the years to become a master listener. At least this crew made it quite an interesting experience.
