His great green eyes take in everything around him.

He's come to die for all who love him.

They laugh, they jeer as He makes his way though

to the Stone Table where He will die.

He can feel the girl's grief as He knows they are watching;

Yet He he knows they must see and bear witness.

Now they've swung ropes around Him, he knows with one swipe

They could be dead on the floor, but that is not to be.

He is dragged up the steps, now He can see her face.

Cruel, unrelenting as she yells with her demons.

Tied and muzzled, he groans with grief.

The witch hold her knife high, arrogance written

All over her face as she thinks she's the winner

Of this terrible truth.

She whispers, "I am the victor, and it is written on this very table

The deep magic that binds us both. I will rule Narnia."

With that down comes the knife, He feels the piercing pain.

The demons cackled in delight as the King is slain!

Now all is slipping quietly away, and Aslan relents to the darkness that

Comes.

The witch holds the knife high, His blood dripping from it.

The demons dance around their queen, screaming and roaring.

It has been now but an hour, the demons are gone.

Lucy and Susan grieve over their king.

"I can't believe He's gone! What will happen now?''

Lucy asks.

Susan doesn't answer, for she fears the worst.

She shrugs, and suggests they go for a walk.

Bitter tears grow in Susan's eyes, she wishes

All hope were not lost,

When a CRACK! Split the air!

Both turned around to find the table in two.

Aslan was gone, they could see that at once.

Searching frantically, they wondered what had just happened.

A gentle rumbling laugh broke through the stillness.

Lucy turned with a gasp.

Susan didn't turn, she was scared to say the least.

Then she felt His breath on her, and she turned to look in His eyes.

The Great Lion was there, and she could feel the love

Radiating from Him.

Burying her head in his mane, she felt the joy, too

That He was alive again and not all was lost.
