AN – Just a short little oneshot I wrote because I wanted to put something up. I've been working on the next chapter of Oblivious, and I needed a break, so, here it is…please review!!!!!
The Kiss She Never Gave Him
She was tired…utterly exhausted. She'd been up all night the night before …no sleep in 40 hours…that could do a lot to a girl. She stumbled into the common room and collapsed on the couch, not noticing that there was already someone there. "Woah! Watch it!" said James, but it was too late, the girl was already asleep on his shoulder. "Hey!" he said, shaking her, "Hey, Evans, wake up!" He tried to push her off his shoulder, but she just fell right back on him again. Eventually he gave up and picked her up, "God, Evans, you weigh a ton!" he said, carrying her bridal style over to the other couch, but suddenly she reached up and kissed him, murmuring something incomprehensible in her sleep. "Holy shit Evans!" he said, nearly dropping her… "What're you on about?" He lay her down on the couch and sat there looking at her. "God she's gorgeous!" he muttered to himself before he fell asleep too. When he woke up, Lily was gone.
He saw her the next day and tried to ask her about that night, but she refused to talk to him, and just walked away saying, "You jerk, can't you leave me alone for ten seconds?"
He tried to ask her the whole next week…finally, two weeks after it happened, he grabbed her by the arm in the hallway, on the Hogwarts Express, and said, "Evans, that night in the common room…why did you kiss me?"
"What?" she responded, "I never kissed you, you pompous ass!"
He let go of her arm, and watched her walk away…but he was forever haunted by that kiss, the kiss she never gave him.
AN – So…how'd you like it??? Please leave a review…it really doesn't take that long, and it's much appreciated.
