She dropped the paintbrush and stared at her creation. It was a field of flowers that made Shuu-chan and all the others happy, but it made her sad. Hagu hadn't been herself since graduation. Of course she had seen the others since then, yet Hagu was miserable.
Hagu had been teaching children's classes during the summer and the rest of the year was filled with painting, sculpting, drawing and art shows. Ayu had been there when she felt her worst and Morita had still scared her with his stupid mouse costumes and pictures.
"Hagu-chan?" She turned around to see Takemoto standing in the doorway. Hagu's heart fluttered a little. "That's really cool Hagu… Ummm… would you like to get some lunch with me?"
"Yes." She squeaked. Takemoto brightened up and waited for her to wash off the paint on her hands.
They went to a small seaside café a couple blocks away from the art studio were Hagu had been working.
"It's been about a month since we've seen each other." Takemoto smiled as he scooped more ice cream in his mouth.
"Yeah…" That was all she said. They finished their food in silence. Once the food was paid for and Takemoto and Hagu left the café he said he had leave and started to walk away after saying good-bye. Hagu watched as he walked away getting farther and farther.
"NO!" Hagu ran towards him and grabbed him. "Takemoto-kun! Please don't leave me!" Hagu held him tight and cried into his shirt. "I missed you. It was terrible without you."
Takemoto hugged her back. "Hagu, I missed you too. I won't leave you ever again. Hagu… I… I love you." She stopped crying and looked up at his face, she smiled.
"I love you too."
He pulled away and knelt on one knee. "Hagu… would you be my wife?" Hagu gasped at the ring he held in his hand. She nodded and hugged him again. Takemoto was so happy that he could kiss her.
Which is what he did.
The End.
