I do not own Fullmetal Alchemist, and frankly, if you think I do, your an idiot. Read and review please!

Winry sat on the train station bench, waiting for the 4:00 train to arrive. The last time she had seen him, Ed had given her a quick hug goodbye, and then had boarded the train. Finally, after nearly six months away from Resembool, he was coming home. Al would be arriving two days after his brother.

Winry leaped to her feet when she saw the train in the distance. She was so happy that Edward was finally coming home, but she also felt…well she didn't know exactly what to call it. Anxiety was the best word for it. She was afraid that maybe Ed had met another girl on his travels; afraid that maybe he wouldn't even hug her again. But she was also kind of afraid that he would hug her. Hug her and maybe something more.

Stop that Winry! The young automail mechanic scolded herself. I mean, even if Ed has met another girl, it wasn't like he promised you anything. And really Winry, if he does do something…more, would it really be all that bad? No. In fact, isn't something more kind of what you've been hoping for?

But before Winry could answer herself, the train pulled up, and there he was. Of course, Resembool was a small town, meaning there weren't many other people on the platform, and so he spotted her immediately. Inside, she was melting as his golden eyes met her blue ones. She smiled and waved, motioning for him to come over.

And then he was in front of her, setting down his luggage, and his strong arms wrapped themselves around Winry as he hugged her to him. She wrapped her arms around his waist, but still didn't allow herself to be too hopeful. This could just be a friendly hug, she reminded herself. I mean, we've known each other practically our whole lives…

But all other coherent thought faded away, as he pulled back, and tilted her face up to look at his.

Pitching his voice so only she could hear, he said, "I really should have done this before I left," and the next thing she knew, he was kissing her, and she was kissing him back.

Was this possible? Was Edward Elric, the man who never let his feelings show, who adamantly refused to have anyone help him, who was as stubborn as a mule when it came to anything personal, actually kissing Winry? Was he actually showing affection to her?

These were thoughts that ran through Winry's head only after the kiss had ended, for during it, she hadn't even been able to form a complete thought in her head. She didn't have to speak; he saw it all in her questioning look. And because they knew each other as they probably didn't even know themselves, he just smiled, and gave her another little kiss on the lips. And that was all the answer she needed.
