A Day in his Life
It is going to be a dull day. Thought Sonic as he looked out the window. The hero of the world had nothing planned. All his friends were away. His adopted little brother, Tails, had left with a young rabbit named Cream to the Chao Garden. The Chao Garden was a place where anyone could take care of the creatures called chaos. Hence the name. Knuckles the Echidna was still on his island in the sky watching the jewel of his ancestors, the Master Emerald. Amy, a pink hedgehog in love with Sonic had gone out of town to shop in a neighboring city. Sonic didn't ask about it. He yawned, then went to get washed up and dressed. He was an anthro hedgehog, and like many anthros didn't wear too much clothes. After putting on his gloves and shoes he went out the door.
"Maybe i'll just get a snack," muttered Sonic to himself. With that he ran to the closest chili dog vendor. He was there in a few seconds. They didn't call him the blue blur for nothing.
"One chili dog please," He said.
"Yes sir," replied the Cat at the desk. Sonic sighed. Despite saving the world again and again some people still didn't recognize him. A scream suddenly interrupted his thoughts.
"We're under attack!" While most would have been scared or frightened, Sonic smiled.
"My day just got interesting." With that he ran to the source of the trouble. There were several robots in the center of the city. They all looked dangerous with gleaming armor and shiny weapons. Nearby there were animals trapped in cylinder shaped pods and a rather obese man in a red coat sitting in some type of tank. Sonic grinned. "Hey Eggman, why don't you let those people free and leave?" The man turned.
"Sonic, why don't you surrender to me before I give you the beating of your life!" The hedgehog's grin widened. He loved teaching Doctor Eggman why he shouldn't attack the innocent people on the planet. He jumped while curling into a ball. By the time the robots began firing their weapons he had smashed into the first robot. In a flash he rammed the second while the slow machines tried to get Sonic in their sights. In a minute the rest of the previously undamaged machines were scrap. Dr. Eggman could only stare as his best machines were annihilated. It was then that the crazed scientist decided the best tactic would be to retreat. His tank began to hover then went higher into the air.
"You'll regret this!" He called out as he left for his base. Sonic feeling cocky called back "I'll be waiting!" With that the blue blur released the animals from their prisons and ran back into the town. "Now to get that chili dog!" In the end, Sonic decided the day was not so boring after all.
