"Em?" She says from the doorway.

"Hmm?"

"You ever feel tired? Like.. Really tired, even though you don't know why?"

You look up from your book, to her face, and she looks confused. You see the light bags under her eyes and the small frown on her lips.
She does look tired, you decide.

"Yeah.." You sigh "Yeah, I do.."

"When it was just A.. I could take it. I could handle all the texts and the searching for the guy with the black hoodie.. But ever since Ali came back, I just can't. We've been running all over the freaking place looking for Ali, running from A, Hiding from our parents, the police, lying to everyone we care about.." She trails off taking a deep breath.

"Sounds like you do know why you're tired.." You can't disagree, you feel the same way.

"That's just it though, I don't. I could put up with A.. And at least Ali's not trying to kill us every week, I don't see why it's taking so much out of me now.."

"Because now.. When you're out looking for Ali and running from A, it's more lies you have to tell.. More secrets you have to keep.. That'll drain you.. Then you have Ali playing with our heads, manipulating us into doing what she can't. A's out there just barely a step ahead of us. On top of all that we're all juggling relationships and upholding promises, trying to keep each other alive.. You have a right to be tired Hanna, We all do.."

"In that case.." She sighs as she leans against you "I need a nap"

You lean down and kiss her head.

"Em?" She says as she curls into you

"Hmm?" You ask wrapping your arms around her

"Thanks.." She smiles.

"No problem" You smile too.

"God, I love you.." You smile wider as she kisses you.

"I love you too, Han.. We'll make it, okay?"
