Early Spring, late Winter. Sonic had just arrived from another mission. Eggman had no intention on giving up, which was certain but, the blue hero always found a way. He was tired from a deadly fight against the big mustached villain and had no fight left in him to deal with anything else. He walked into Tails' house and was relieved that it was only Tails there, building another machine.

"I'm home, Buddy," said Sonic with slight emotion.

Tails snapped out of his slight mechanic trance, "Oh hey Sonic, how did it go? Man, you sure look tired. Take a nap in one of my guest rooms. There's one down the hall from here,"

"Thanks Tails," Sonic replied lowly.

He took his time walking to the room because at this moment, he knew he had nothing else to deal with, or so he thought. A sudden crack was heard but, he paid no mind to it. He snuck into his bed; cozy and warm.

The bedroom door flew open, "Sonikkkkkuuuuu! Oh Sonic!" cried the notorious Amy Rose.

Sonic, pissed as hell, mustered enough energy to speak, "Amy what the hell do you want? Can't you see I'm tired? I just want to sleep!"

Amy, surprised at his tone of voice, decided to calm down, "Oh sorry Sonikku, I just wanted to give you my love letter," she handed it to him cautiously, knowing the mental state he was in.

He grumbled a few words and went back to bed. Amy walked towards the door in silence but, stopped just as she reached the door.

"At least read it Sonic, I'm not asking for any more than that. You can do whatever you want with it after that. Just promise me that you'll read it," she said softly.

"Yeah whatever," replied a half asleep Sonic.

Sonic fell into a deep sleep, and Amy left for her house. The snow on the ground melted slowly and the flowers began to bloom. The sun came out, shining brightly on Sonic's window as he awoke from his wonderful slumber.

"Man that was a great nap!" Sonic said to himself while stretching and yawning. Unaware that it was, in fact, morning.

Tails walked in, "Hey Sonic, I see you're feeling better. How about we go to a nearby diner for some breakfast? My treat," he said with a smile.

Sonic shot up at the thought of food, "Sure Tails! I'm starving but, I'm feeling great!" his stomach growled loudly.

They walked to the Green Hill Zone Diner and the smell of freshly made coffee hit their noses. Both boys looked at one another with elation. Sonic had a chili dog with some orange juice and Tails had pancakes with fruits on the side with some hot chocolate. Both were stuffed and would probably be full until the next day.

Tails noticed a piece of paper sticking out of Sonic's pocket, "Hey Sonic, what's that you have there?" pointing towards the letter.

Sonic chuckled, "Oh this? Heh, just some dumb letter Amy gave me yesterday. She told me to read it, like hell I will!" and he threw the letter into the wind.

They both didn't mind it and kept on with their conversation. Amy stood outside of the diner, feeling the wind through her hair, witnessing what had just happened. Tears rolled down her eyes like Niagara Falls. She walked into the distance.

In the letter, she wrote:

"Dear Sonic,

This isn't really a love letter. I wanted to tell you that I've just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and the doctor says it's to developed for any treatment. I won't be around anymore. The doctor says I have a few more days to live. I couldn't bring myself to tell you this so I wrote it in a letter; I really hope you do read this. One thing will remain certain, I will always love you Sonic and I'll watch you from above. Goodbye."

From,

Amy Rose
