It had been one of those days in the office, the ones where nothing particularly interesting crosses the path of their desks. Mulder had found himself so bored that the whole month's supply of pencils was now embedded in the polystyrene ceiling tiles. Scully had re-read the files of their last couple of cases and was now wishing that something interesting would happen.

The end of that day came and the two agents happily drove home. Neither had anything planned as usual and returned to their dark empty apartments.

Scully had been sat in the arm chair reading a book when she heard a knock at her door. She looked at the clock, it was now 11.30, and she knew it could only be one person at this hour. Abandoning her book, which it turned out wasn't that interesting, she left the comfort of the chair to answer the door.

In the now open doorway stood Mulder in his usual jeans, white t-shirt, grey sweater, sneakers and worn leather jacket. He just smiled at Scully as she let him in walked over to her couch and flopped down on it. In the kitchen Scully was putting on a pot of coffee and Mulder decided to start up a conversation.

"Scully?" There was a long pause while he waited for her to answer.

"Hmmm!" she was busy pouring the dark liquid into two large mugs.

"What would you have in your perfect world?" it was a good job Scully had finished pouring the coffee otherwise half of it would have been on the counter after that.

"Erm….. Gosh Mulder I don't know" she called from the kitchen. Second later she was handing him his coffee and she continued "What would you have in your perfect world?"

"Well I know one thing I would definitely have." He said, a huge smile creeping onto his face.

"Oh, and what's that?" Scully was intrigued. She was expecting him to say something like 'To know everything they're keeping a secret from us. To know the truth about the conspiracy' but what she got in answer was nothing like that.

"I'd definitely have you." He leant over, placed his mug on the coffee table and kissed her forehead. Getting up to leave he heard Scully call his name.

"Mulder, I'd have you there too." She smiled at him and with that he left.
